It is more likely that it doesn't have anything to do with not understanding the implications but disagree on the seriousness/impact as well as conclusions. The disagreement being that even if it is all true (and that's a big "if" in the minds of many) it is not significant or important. Not significant or important enough to withdraw support or look for a way to get him out of office.

We saw the same types of disagreements in the last administration as well. I wouldn't say Hillary and Obama supporters didn't understand the implications of the pallet of cash to Iran or Benghazi but they didn't feel it had the same importance I did (for example).

Were you trying to convey that Trump supporters were ignorant or hadn't thought things through? I didn't take your post that way but since it could read either way so I wanted to ask...

Your TDS is keeping you imbalanced. From your own article, there has been a steady increasing downward trend, this 'uptick' in individuals caught is in comparison to the previous month, not overall, and even with this months increase (in people being caught) its still the lowest record for May on record.

I think that if not most, certainly a large number of GOP voters that voted FOR Trump were indeed voting AGAINST Hilary. I think a large percentage of the Democrat voters that did not vote for Hillary did so because they were pissed that the DNC and Hillary colluded against Bernie Sanders...and that they too were essentially voting or not voting as the case may be AGAINST Hillary.

Absolutely there was a lot of voting against instead of for in that election. But that's not really what I meant. I was trying to say that many trumpers would cut off their nose to spite their face in that if the race were between a guy who promises to lop off everyone's left leg and Hillary, they'd have chosen the guy who promised to lop off everyone's left leg. Not to vote against Hillary but more like... "I really hate that guy who promises to lop off everyone's left leg but I'll be damned if I'll let the Dems get a win here." Just so they can hop around on one leg pointing and laughing at Hillary voters.

My suspicion from the studies I've seen would be that Trump's voters had their focus closer to home and were not the typical foreign policy enthusiasts. This would not be a statement that fits all, but rule of thumb? The inexperience in these things shows in Trump and his entourage are having problems in this respect to.

Thats rather similar to what I have said about how I see democrat voters that constantly bitch about Trump. they run around covered head to toe in **** and point at the other guys and say "look what YOU stepped in!"

But I get what you are saying..I just dont agree with it. The only people I see that fit the description of what you are talking about are actually Sanders voters that voted for anyone but Hillary or just didnt vote.

There used to be a time when trump supporters didn't think colluding with a foreign country (especially Russia) to win an election would be a good thing. Now they excuse it like the anti American filth that they are.

I don't agree completely but there is definite truth in that statement. Although Trump did talk foreign policy quite bit, the groundswell of support came from domestic policy. I wouldn't take a guess at a percentage but I suspect that a sizable number (majority? plurality? not sure...) of Trump voters are keeping their eye on the domestic ball more than anything else. Taxes, the ACA, immigration, energy, etc.

Put simply, I would agree that in the minds of many, Trump's fate follows that of the economy and not that of the Russia investigation.

It seems that 80% of Trumpers think that Trump should stay in office even if his campaign colluded with the Russians. To me that means that winning is everything to these people, even at the cost of our elections. And they talk to us about Patriotism. Get him under oath. I don't think anyone but his admin cares. The public wouldn't be against it. How often do you wet your pants that you think others do? Can you respond to a Conservative without denigrating them? Not so far...
