Right Wing News Sites Targeted for Russian Probe by DNC Activist

A revived bid by a top Federal Election Commission Democrat could lead to an "inquisition" against conservative media outlets like the Drudge Report, InfoWars and Breitbart that take political advertising and are overseen by right-leaning owners or editors, according to critics.

The plan, set for discussion at Thursday's FEC meeting, could open the door to political subpoenas targeting the websites, their editorial news decisions, and their owners, maybe even Matt Drudge and Alex Jones, according to an expert analysis.

In her effort targeting foreign influence in federal and state elections, Commissioner Ellen Weintraub would probe spending by overseas sources and even partially-foreign-owned U.S. firms on campaigns, including their media buys. Foreign influence is illegal in elections.

Why isn't Commissioner Weintraub investigating foreign influence in American elections via AIPAC? This foreign influence has been occurring for decades, with AIPAC's senior leadership even bragging about telling Bill Clinton who he could choose for cabinet members.

Can someone answer why the Weintraubs of the world are comfortable with foreign influence occurring in American elections, as long as Israel does it, but not Russia?

huh? As far as I know lots of democrats are anti-israeli and pro-palestine. But Bill Clinton isn't President anymore.

If we cared about the quality of the idea rather than who gave voice to it our problems understanding reality would be much less.
 
Probably has something to do with Israel being our ally and Russia being something of an enemy.
 
trump will never be off the hook for fronting off Israel with classified Intel given to Kislyak. Imagine Bibi's public outrage if Obama had done that .

Um I don't think so. There is something to be said by investigating the sources. You guys are always the ones complaining about unnamed sources, I thought it didn't matter? I guess it only matters when you get caught red-handed colluding with Russians. Then you say it doesn't matter. :lamo

IMHO, the DNC needs to stop the DNC activist and let the official investigations (and their more than willing Aide's de Camp in the press) because once you start blowing up other people's skirts, your skirt will inevitably get blown up as well giving us all a view of their nickers that I would presume they'd rather not have exposed - as if they haven't learned a damned thing from all the WikiLeaks crap.

If any US corporation colluded with a foreign country to hack the DNC or any other illegal act, then it will come out before Mueller is done.

why are they selective and only investigating conserative organazations. This isnt much different than how the irs was weaponized. Maybe the AG should start assigning special prosecuters to look at all the democrats dirty laundry and only look at them exclusively. What do you think Mr GOP, would you be cool with that?

That doesn't dismiss my point that the liberal base (even the jewish ones) are stanch anti-israel. I know many of my jewish millennial friends who hate Israel and I always found that odd.

I'm sure there are individual Dems of Jewish backgrounds who are critical of Israel, but the thread is concerning government. And my assertion is that far more foreign influence exists on the American electoral process by Israel (illegal) than by Russia.

Are there any House or Senate members not currently on Israel's payroll?

No the thread is about right wing sources getting funding from Russia which is the same thing you are complaining about from Israel yet apparently we know all about Israel's funding they aren't exactly an enemy ya know. Yet you seem to be acting like they are. We need to know about Russia's funding. Could care less about Israel's legal lobbying efforts.

Foreign countries are allowed to advertise in the USA. They aren't allowed to try to influence elections or how our politicians behave through lobbying or bribery.

Why are you OK with Israel owning the House and Senate? Was that what the founding Fathers had in mind, governance through Tel Aviv?
