Spicer resigns

I actually feel sort of bad for him.

He was a unwitting tool, used by Trump, insistently ferocious about things not based in reality for the sake of someone who manipulated him and threw him away.

That, and Trump consciously prevented him, a lifelong devout Catholic, from meeting the Pope.

Do I like him, his dishonesty and his politics? No.

Do I think he was an unwitting rube, to some degree who got suckered like a mark and kicked to the curb? Yeah, sorta.

This is a perfect encapsulation of how Trump has treated people who work for him over the years.

He's a propagandist by trade.

No sympathy.

The only one who could ever 'get the job done' under Trump would be Joe Isuzu, and he's not available.

Trump is and always has been a hard guy to work for, we all knew that. On the other hand those who get the job done are highly rewarded. Those who dont get a "YOU'RE FIRED!" which tends to come sooner rather than later.

I'm gonna miss this guy.

Or, more accurately, I'm gonna miss Melissa McCarthy making fun of this guy.

Does that includes the multitudes of contractors he's ripped off over the years?

Did Obama ever have this type of resignation? In that, someone who was on Obama's office staff resigned over oppositions to decisions that Obama made?

I am ok with Spicer leaving. He is a well established gop swamp creature with establishment ties all over the place.

I still wince at rince being there...

Let the rhyming begin.

I smell a book deal!

On the bright side: Sean got a newly tailored wardrobe. That will play well on cable news/entertainment!

Obama administration resignations and firings

Theres a bunch of scandals and failures but not much in blatant disagreement. Its CNN so anything goes.

I've paged through most of them. There's only one or two White House Office staff, and most resigned to pursue other opportunities (if it wasn't the primary reason of them screwing up something).

According to the Times, Spicer departed because “he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.” Multiple sources familiar with the situation confirmed to Yahoo News that Scaramucci was given that position on Friday morning.

Poor Spicer has had to try and defend so many Trumpian idiocies, beginning with the ridiculous inauguration crowd size stupidity.
So, I'm certain Sean probably felt he was being dissed by Trump.
I dunno......Spicer should have quit months ago and salvaged at least some shred of dignity.

Well, Sanders has been doing the briefings for awhile now, so this isn't unexpected.

He destroyed his dignity, integrity and credibility on his first day in the job.

Should we start a pool on how long Sanders will last?

He probably figured Trump won't last long as president, so he didn't want to go down with him.

Job opening: White House press secretary.
Must have a high tolerance for BS.
Must be able to lie with a straight face.
Must be more loyal than any German Shepherd ever.

I hear barrack is currently unemployed. He certainly fits all the criteria you outlined

Where are all the people predicting this as a sign of the end of trump? Wheres all my antitrumppers hiding at?

I don't know - she doesn't seem to care what she has to say. She's not easy to like in the position she's confrontational - a bit more like Trump that way. Spicey seemed uncomfortable...........often.
The new guy seems to be a complete suck up. He's saying what Trump wants to hear.

Pretty much.
Still, I wonder if Spicer knew how much spinning he would actually be required to perform.
I think he was originally a spokesman for the RNC, so he most certainly knows all about spin.
But spinning for Trump is at a much higher level on the political merry-go-round.

She's gotten a good look at Trump's bizarre behavior, so she knows what to expect.
I'm curious as to why anyone would take this job.
Is it a resume enhancer.....as in...."I lied for Trump, I can lie for anyone"?
I don't get it.

That ability is the main qualification for the job

Spicer was pretty confrontational early on. Possibly, after seeing himself being lampooned on SNL, he realized he was becoming a cartoon.

The new guy seems to be a complete suck up. He's saying what Trump wants to hear.
Of course. I think he and Trump go back a ways, so he knows what the Donald wants to hear.

This is the best season of the apprentice.
