Trump Hires from Abroad

I can see, where anti-Trumps might want to build ****storm out of this. But it would only work on people with very little understanding of how economies work and how governments can go about influencing them. Really a very sad opinion piece from the WP.

The fee for membership at Mar-a-Logo have double to 200 000 dollar after Donald Trump won, so why should it be a problem to pay a little more for American workers? That even if you argument is that regular business can't afford American workers, extreme high end business should really have that possibility. Just like Trump would want to charge a little more for hats made in America and his supporters willing to pay a little more for them. Also Donald Trump is much about branding and marketing with the goal of getting people to pay for the Trump brand, so shouldn't one essential part of that brand be made in America?

Trump's economics are spelled hypocrite

As I said. That isn't how business works and is the last way one should want one's economy to work. Besides probably being illegal in a publicly held company without shareholder decision, it is certainly inefficient and most probably reduces the country's general welfare. But you are right that it would be good to employ locals, if they know the recipes and languages, unless the imported labor is there in an exchange program like the ones we sent trainees on.
And anyaway. That part of the product is made in the USA albeit by foreign personnel.

Or are you referring to the party hats and not the personnel.

We all know that it's very, very hard to find Americans who are qualified to be cooks, housekeepers and waiters in the United States.

Floridas economy is hugely dependent on tourism. there are 435,000 unemployed currently in Florida.

If only some of them were qualified to be cooks, housekeepers and waiters, then Trumpco wouldn't have to hire foreigners.

The idiocy of this post is that you want to make it sound like Pres. Trump is running Mar-A-Lago's daily operations. I doubt that he's ever had anything more to do with the daily ops there than hiring a well qualified person to handle the operation and they hired the people who run the daily ops.

Also from the very article you linked to (and didn't bother to read past the the part that triggered your TDS):
Now, the Labor Department — which reports to Trump — must make decisions that will affect two for-profit business that the president still owns.

The next step, a Department of Labor spokesman said, is that the two clubs must take steps to try to recruit American workers for these jobs. That often involves placing help-wanted ads in local newspapers and contacting former workers. If those efforts are unsuccessful, then Trump's clubs can ask for the Department of Labor to certify that it has tried and failed to hire Americans. After that, the Trump clubs can ask the Department of Homeland Security to issue visas for workers it has found in other countries.
So due diligence to hire American has to be taken and if no American workers can be found, then they can hire from abroad. Maybe some of the people living off the gov't dole should have been applying for those jobs...

if only trump werent such a sleaze bag he wouldnt have to hire foreigners. Florida is a tourist state and very few hire from abroad.

Your assertion that close to half-a-million unemployed in Florida can't cook or turn the bed down is ridiculous

Very true. Very true.

I doubt Trump could control his own restaurant if he tried.
There's no way he could get it together enough to tell his employees what to do.

Mar-a-Lago takes order from no one!

The FACT that they placed ads, and contacted former employees and couldn't get anyone to go to work is the point. I know that you'll go to ANY extent to make this as negative as humanly possible, since you're in full blown TDS, but at some point reality needs to interject itself into the blood-red world of hate that you live in. There were clearly defined steps that the people who run M-A-L took (not the President, but the who were hired by the people he hired) that met the requirements for hiring from abroad. If no one in that area wants to work there, then the 100% legal recourse is to hire from abroad. Simple facts that fly in the face of the narrative that you are so desperate to push and prove what lie it is. But all you can see is giant glaring red "TRUMP!!!" clouding your vision and that one vision makes all truth, facts and reality fade to pale shadows.

Florida has been doing tourism for a long long time it's what they do down there the idea that he has to go to Offshore to get someone to make a bed is just patently ridiculous

It seems unlikely that they couldn't find cooks, housekeepers, and waiters.

So the word fact may need some quotes around it—The "FACT" that they placed ads, and contacted former employees and couldn't get anyone to go to work is the point.

Maybe it should be a different word altogether, like 'claim'—The CLAIM that they placed ads, and contacted former employees and couldn't get anyone to go to work is the point.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Claiming that you cannot find hotel / restaurant workers in FL is an extraordinary claim.

I'll need to see some proof of that before I believe it.

All of the women that that Trump has married have been from outside the USA.

We all know that it's very, very hard to find Americans who are qualified to be cooks, housekeepers and waiters in the United States.

I think its very hard to find Americans who want to work for a salary far below a living wage.

Where can Americans like that be found?

Do you have any ideas?

I'd look somewhere that there's a thriving hospitality industry, lots of hotels resorts, restaurants, vacation get-aways, that sort of thing.

Poor Trumpco.
Started a hospitality business where they're no skilled workers
He should have set it up somewhere like Florida.

I believe Mar-A-Lago is in Florida.
