racial discrimination is illegal under title VII though I admit that private schools can admit who they want.

there are far more valid reasons why legacies get preferences than racial discrimination

I haven't been able to weigh in on Hastert yet because I am still a wrestling coach in IL and wrestled against Hastert's Yorkville teams throughout my HS career when he raped the team manager who died of AIDS in the 1990s and I'm still distraught over it. I only live an hour from him.

The wrestling community is a very conservative one. We were shocked, demoralized and devastated at this news for the family of the boy. It's bad enough that we battle very real viruses like ringworm and even MRSA on occasion. Boys don't even want to wear genital-exposing singlets any more.

Wrestling has more inequality in it now than ever, with the rich able to wrestle 365, travel the country, heavy junior high recruiting, about 10% haves.

When I taught in Iowa for 3 years, I still remember Hastert, Iowa wrestling legend Dan Gable, and Gingrich being introduced to the Veteran's Auditorium in Des Moines.

I'm so sad to see Hastert ruin these boy's lives and ruin the reputation of wrestling, his family, his community, his school, his GOP, the Speakership, and our Nation.

I'm also ****en sick to death of the ... but someone else garbage ... in this thread. As if GOPs need to have their noses rubbed in the ... but Sandusky and the rest of the GOP pedophiles **** ...

It is indeed absolutely despicable what Hastert did to everyone involved, most off all those poor, trusting kids he coached and then abused.

Scum will always be protected by other scum. The first act in that defense seems to always be, "Look over there. A Clinton..."

I have no idea how they managed to twist the law such that AA fits into the Title VII and other laws against racial discrimination. I'm sure it's some sort of dishonest bull**** though. That's probably why I am not a fan of it myself. But, jumping the gun like you tend to do and just assuming any Black Democrat is an AA beneficiary is kind of ****ty. Just say'n.

The first one was elected AFTER what he did was revealed, the second one is being defended by a whole lot of liberals. The point is that when a conservative does something like this, they pay the price, when a liberal does it, they just keep right on serving in their elected office. I didn't even mention two long time Dem. congresscritters.

Why are you obsessed with talking about Hastert? He has been out of office for how long now? And my bet is that you can find no conservative or librul in this forum with a favorable impression of Hastert. And if you are just using Hastert to bait republicans, do not get butthurt if others bring up Anthony Weiner or other democrat sex offenders. Should we talk about those four women victims of Bill Clinton that showed up at one of the 2016 Trump/Hillary debates?
