Does anyone take CNN seriously anymore?

CNN has absolutely fallen off from the days of Tiananmen square, but this has much more to do with the demands of a 24/7 news cycle with the goal of profiting from advertisment that is spurred by high ratings. CNN TV is bad news for more reasons than its bias. If you think CNN is crap and Fox News is okay, then you are just a partisan hack. I think their written journalism is fine for the most part, Fox and CNN. Its just the talking head and personality driven "news" model that is the problem.

Kudos to Anderson, The NY Times, and Washington Post. If those three had not chased this story, we would have never known Junior attempted collusion. Blows the whole witch hunt, fake news scenario out the window.
Yep.

Regardless of how this incident resolves, I'm hoping some young people are inspired to pursue journalism as a career. God knows we need all the good ones we can get!

I guess. But in this case, I think I would rather be blind to the source, than confronted with it's origin. :fart

The point however, which was important, that charts without a source are no more reputable than one pulled out my ass. In point of fact, ratingswise, CNN is doing quite well. Not how I would judge a news source, but he brought ratings into it.

Hey, I got the point, but just needed a little levity.

It's only in the last year or so that CNN's ratings have been on the upswing, as well as those of MSNBC. People on the left have been flocking to those liberal news outlets in greater numbers, and both have been spinning their coverage in order to keep them tuning in.

Some are obviously to young to remember CNN once stood for the Clinton News Network. (Or maybe too old?)

it was joked as the communist new network when I was younger.

I remember that. All true.

It amazes me that a business hoping for the largest audience possible, decides to permanently eliminate 10's of millions of potential customers to it's product.

I get someone can decide to publish a politically biased newspaper, or develop a politically biased website. They have decided to go after a select audience.

But these MSM companies willingly eliminating 10's of millions of customers, for pretty much ever, is a baffling thing to me.

There is a massive void when it comes to a straight news, no spin, no slant, news sources.

Perhaps I'm just naive to think such a thing is possible.
