It's almost verbatim with trump nation. Just change comments of John Dean to James Comey and change references of Chappaquiddick to Benghazi emails.

I'd say the list is almost verbatim (except for that stupidly repeated Chappaquiddick "joke") for just about anyone, lefty or righty, when it comes to supporting the President of their choice.

IMO you'd be using them just as frequently for whichever flavor-of-the-month President you've supported too.

That would be #1 on the list. "Everybody does it"

Look at you breaking out excuse #1 on the list. And #34. Lol

Did you miss?

Just switch Party names (Republican for Democrat) and insert President (Bill, Obama, or wish-list Hillary):coffeepap:

Pointed use of emojis aside, what is the supposedly meaningful difference you see between "1. Everyone does it" and "just about anyone, lefty or righty"?

Wow, some things never change.

I see you have added the Trumpian flourish of saying something and then denying that you said it

Good work! Trump would be proud of you

..and you just keep throwing out red herrings and straw man arguments ad nauseam.

How about the blatantly stated OP hypocrisy...that only Trump supporters do this?

It's almost verbatim with trump nation.

My response was to that position...as all of you well know.

He never said "only Trump supporters do this." He said:

He was only speaking about Trump supporters. That means, by definition, that he wasn't saying anything about anyone else.

Meanwhile, your response was to say that "just about anyone, lefty or righty" does it. Which nicely matched #1 from his list. And the point behind #1 is that if something is wrong, then it is no defense to say someone else did it too; relatedly, that saying such a thing is a deflection and no more.

I doubt if many of the barely educated liberals under 30 even know what Chappaquiddick means in the political sense

Mac, get back to the math flash cards! Event transpired in 1969.............48 years. Aced US History.......just a mouse click away!

Maybe under 60 is more appropriate......

If some liberal snowflakes are curious enough to spend a mouse click all they will get is a flashcard educatrion on the subject

But I suppose in their world that makes them experts

I just wanted to say, "thanks for the Buchwald".

The guy was a genius, but I had forgotten about him.

Outstanding similarity to what's happening today. Also, it looks like FDR was the the Nixon loyalists' "Obama".
