Trump Will Soon Fire Mueller

That's a reasonable hypothesis. Far from full-proof, but it may provide some general insight. Though as seen in the post below, Trump's reason for firing Mueller may be more complex than mere electioneering issues.

This!

It's been my theory from the beginning.

Trump is now very much trapped, and I am virtually sure him, his campaign, or his organization, will be found dirty in something, somehow, somewhere. His trump card, so to speak, is politics. As long as he maintains his strong base, he is impervious to any damage, since the only one that can touch him is the GOP Congress.

Mueller cannot charge a sitting President. However, Mueller can pressure Trump via threatening to charge his family and cohorts, where Trump would summarily fire Mueller and cling to politics to survive (which has worked well for him to this point).

there is no evidence to suggest that trump will fire Mueller.

After last weeks evidence of Trump higher up collusion and a complete refutation of the long standing denials from Trump himself, I strong suspect that if he was stupid enough to fire Mueller all it would do is get him an independent special prosecutor.

Oh gawd...Trump, please fire Mueller. Please. It will destroy that last shred of confidence anyone not in your 36% has in rule of law.

We need a shake-up like that. So, please fire him this week, if possible.
What makes you think firing Mueller would break the camel's back? Resulting in anything different than firing Comey?

That same crowd that shouted "lock her up!", will simply shout "fire him!". And as long as they're behind Trump, so is the GOP Congress!

The average length of an FBI investigation is supposedly around 1,139 days.

So this investigation may go on for at least 2 to 4 years.

I guess the administrations agenda is going to mired by controversy for a while.

I don't see anything but baseless speculation being harped up by the media to make it worse than what it is.
but it feeds the TDS that people have so they get away with it instead of being held responsible.

Exactly. If even that!

And it may not even be a "stupid" decision. It may be a critical risk-reward decision.

You know way too much to be on a forum like this

Oh? Do you think someone who uses reason and logic to examine facts shouldn't be on a forum like this? Perhaps you would prefer members be restricted to useful idiots?

Could the reason for you being upset have something to do with the conservative agenda getting derailed by the constant focus on trump's misadventures?

Exactly. If even that!

Having seen Trump in all his inglorious authoritarian display - I wonder why he simply just does not
1- Fire Mueller
2- issue a pardon for anybody associated with this collusion and cover-up and then proclaim that there no longer is any Russian story to deal with.

Even with such a naked and ugly power grab as that - his key 30% would still kneel before him and worship him seeing nothing wrong.

And the GOP in Congress would say he is just exercising his powers and there is nothing that can do about it.

Never said their was.

We're discussing hypotheticals here.

It's my hypothesis that Trump would fire Mueller, if Mueller were to bring charges against Trump's family. I think it's a reasonable hypothesis (as long as Trump enjoys high GOP rank & file support).

the problem is we keep waiting for facts and so far we have nothing.
the whole entire thing has been a disaster for the media and everyone else pushing
this narrative.
On the contrary, it's been a windfall for the media!

MSNBC has occasionally beaten Fox in key demographics, and Racheal Maddow is now often running neck-to-neck with Fox' key evening slots.

And CNN is running 40-60% higher, depending on the slot & demo.

That's all we are right now. There's no way we have all of the facts and there's no way we can form an informed opinion.

Oh...let's see...maybe a video, with audio, of Putin passing a suitcase of thousand dollar bills to Trump and telling him thanks for all the hard work he did to take down Hillary...and Trump responding with his own thanks to Putin for hacking the election vote numbers to switch millions of Hillary votes into Trump votes.

Yeah...that would pretty much do it for me.

I see. For you to believe wrongdoing took place you need a video with audio of the wrongdoing taking place.

That's the kind of irrational answer I expected. Because currently, the evidence that Trump's campaigned collaborated with Russia, a hostile foreign government, is overwhelming. A meeting with Russians and an email saying the topic of the meeting is dirt on Hillary. The only thing missing is video with audio of the meeting. Putin probably has the audio locked away as leverage in case his puppet refuses a command.

It's hard to deny that Putin is the greatest KGB agent who has ever lived. Compromising a U.S. president is impressive work indeed.

Oh...speculation?

Should we disavow someone based on speculation? Or should we examine facts and evidence?
Don't try and play me with a false dichotomy.

Evidence comes in many forms, but if you're looking for that below - you're either deluding yourself or pushing political partisanship:

Well ordinarily, one would think so. Except look at the President! :doh

It would be a bad decision, And Trump did not get to where he is on the back of bad decisions, Mueller will stay.
Firing Comey was a *bad* decision. It got Trump in the current Mueller jam he's in.

I think you put Trump on too high a pedestal.

Not that I don't gave him credit for attaining the Presidency. I do.

Could the reason for you being upset have something to do with the conservative agenda getting derailed by the constant focus on trump's misadventures?

I am not upset at all. I am just laughing at the stupidity of the media and the people that are just going nuts over every single smear piece they put out and I will be
laughing harder when those same people go into further melt down mode when they find no collusion just as people have been saying all along.

You think? He must now realize that that will only make it worse. But as he is probably innocent concerning the things under investigation, he could fire Mueller just to excite the media.

Politically, there is no "worse." Republicans have given their approval to the idea that Trump colluded with Russia, which gives Trump the green light to do...well, pretty much anything at this point. Anybody who thinks Trump would suffer any consequences at the hands of Republican congressmen for firing Mueller is living in the world of yesteryear.

Republicans are staring into the abyss, now.

That same crowd that shouted "lock her up!", will simply shout "fire him!". And as long as they're behind Trump, so is the GOP Congress!

I believe you misread my post. I certainly have no hope that any more than a very slight few of the 36% will ever come around. I was talking about the 64% who are already looking at Trump with suspicious eyes. Firing Mueller will solidify the stance of those people...and, if the GOP kowtows to the Liar in Chief, they will have hell to pay in the coming years. I suspect many of them already see that writing on the wall.

It seems likely that Trump will soon fire Mueller, either through Sessions or if not then by someone else in firing chain since Trump can't do it himself. What may make Mueller's demise imminent is the quiet reaction from Republicans in Congress to the meeting in Trump Tower with Russian agents, and the emails that revealed the campaign's eagerness to work with Russia in order to defeat Hillary Clinton. To many in Trump's base the disclosures were predictably "so what". But members of Congress might have been expected to take a more somber view of it. They haven't, which should be reassuring to Trump if the meeting and emails are all there is, and Mueller has no where deeper to go in his investigation. But such GOP acquiescence could also be reassuring for another reason if, in fact, more, as yet uncovered, damaging information is waiting to be found. That reason is getting rid of Mueller while there is still time. If Republicans in Congress can look the other way at stark evidence of efforts to collude with Russia, they probably will stomach for now a dismissal of Mueller. Under this analysis, then, if Trump lets Mueller alone it probably means he has nothing else to hide, and if he fires Mueller, it probably means there is seriously bad stuff Trump wants to stay hidden.

If he does fire Robert Mueller it will go from bad to worse. This is what Richard Nixon did--and it didn't work out well for him either. I disagree with your assessment that by not firing him means he's not guilty, or that the firing of Robert Mueller wouldn't bother Republicans.

Republicans have two options:
1. Remove Trump from office asap or
2. Burn the entire party down in 2018--2020 and beyond

If Republicans can do 8 investigations into Benghazi it's not hard to imagine what Democrats will do with Treason, Obstruction & Lies when they take over in 2018.

I sure doubted Trump there but after what we have seen of Comey since then Trump was right.....Comey was yet another Obama Bad Call.

Especially when we see new facets and areas of investigation opening up weekly!

But perhaps even moreso, is the voluminous complexity of Trump's dealing's - including with Russia. I don't know how they'll get through it in one term! Alright, perhaps a bit exaggerative, but maybe not. And all the added complexity of players like Manaforte, Cohen, etc. It will be one the largest federal investigation at the administrative levels ever, perhaps approaching Watergate.

lol...as if Trump wasn't another GOP voter bad call.

mostly from anti-trump meme's who cares.
the fact is that they will end up looking stupid more so than what they currently are because when this doesn't pan out
like they are betting on people might finally see the light on how screwed up and messed up our news media is and their
bias coverage.

just like they blew it over the election, just like they blew it over trumps tax returns etc ...

Trump has been creating his own problems from the beginning yet blaming the media for doing their job.

1. Trump chose not to fire Michael Flynn despite Obama's warning and DOJ's warnings.
2. Trump chose to have a private conversation with Comey asking him to let the investigation on Comey go.
3. Trump chose to falsely tweet that Obama wiretapped him.
4. Trump chose to lie and claim no Russian ties when his business is deeply reliant on Russian investors.
5. Trump chose to fire Comey thus creating a special investigator

As a president, the worst thing that could happen to you is a special investigator. They always find something. Bill Clinton started out as a Whitewater investigation turned into perjury about a BJ. I assure you Trump has skeletons that are much worse than a BJ from an intern.

You can't blame the media for covering this. Why would the media ignore lies that have been uncovered.

If it's a witch hunt, it's because Trump dresses like a witch and flies around on a broom.

since no obstruction and treason has happened there isn't much for them to go on.
lying is not a criminal offense otherwise no one would be president nor is it an impeachable offense either.

I suggest that you actually understand the words you use before you use them.
no one has committed treason.
