Economically, Like Reagan and Trump JFK believed in and put into practice the concept that reducing taxes and regulations will stimulate the American economy. In reading about Reagan’s life and presidency I was surprised to find that most of Reagan’s economic policies were an imitation of JFK’s, and so far Trump is following the economic example of Reagan.

JFK was a strong believer in Peace through Strength. He would have been appalled at Obama’s Lead from Behind policies. And he would have been sickened by Obama drawing a red line and having no courage to enforce it. Reagan’s buildup of the US military during the 80s drove Leftist Democrats insane, but without it the USSR would probably still exist today. Today Leftist Democrats like to call Trump “Putin’s Puppet.” Except Trumps bombing in Syria was a much bigger militaristic slap in the face to Putin than he ever received from Obama. As President, Obama bent to the will of Putin by taking down a missile defense shield that protected countries like Poland from Russia, Trump is reinstalling it.

Regarding Abortion, JFK was firmly Pro-life. One of the dissenting Supreme Court votes in Roe v. Wade was a JFK appointee.

JFK was a lifetime member of the NRA. He stated several times that private ownership of firearm is essential to guaranteeing the freedom of all Americans.

JFK was strongly opposed to Racial Quotas such as Affirmative Action, calling them “Counterproductive.”

Today’s GOP calls itself the “Party of Lincoln”. There is no compelling evidence that Lincoln himself would object.

Today’s Democrat party often says the same thing about itself concerning JFK. But I believe if someone went back in time and told JFK what the Democrat Party would descend to he would be sickened.

So who do you think JFK would like: The Gipper and Cheeto Jesus or Queen Kankles and the Passive Aggressive Weasel in Chief?

JFK had qualities of each of them.

1. He was extremely popular much like Reagan. He faced the Russian's head up.
2. He was an advocate (considering the times,) for equality and civil rights much like Obama.
3. He was in cahoots with the unions, much like Hillary.
4. He was a womanizer and morally defective much like Trump.

At least, that's what I remember about him. It's been so long. I could be wrong.

He's more like Trump than anything. He has Trump's ability to inspire the masses. He was much worse on policy and execution, however - Bay of Pigs, his first meeting the USSR, etc...

He was some package, but did American standing enormous good. Luckily nobody ever really registered that he loved equality with a butler at Harvard and put us on the path to glory in Vietnam on the sly.

Inspire the masses? Perhaps.

But I hardly consider Trump, with a disapproval rating pushing almost 60%, as some one who is "inspiring the masses." He inspires the dumbasses, perhaps, (and there is no shortage of those kind of people.) But the "masses" they are not. They are the minority by a long shot.

Actually he would be more in line with Mr. Bill, whose idol was JFK.

As to his politics, today they would have made him more in line with the Republican ideals, at least until this current crop.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" would be considered hate speech by the left.

except during the bay of pigs, when his inaction resulted in a massive mission failure
the cuban refugee population has been hard line republican ever since

not saying it did not happen, but i can recall no civil rights action taken by JFK. could you share something he undertook which would tell us he was in the mold of Obama relative to equality under the law

my bad. he did send in federal troops to escort black students who were willing to integrate the schools. can't take that away from him. in contrast, nixon was the one who implemented the 8(a) program setting aside federal contracts exclusively for minority owned businesses

3. He was in cahoots with the unions, much like Hillary.
can't comment about hillary's union support, but i know bill caused as must damage as benefit for labor
and JFK did launch the unionization of government workers

4. He was a womanizer and morally defective much like Trump.
womanizer. yes
morally defective. i don't see that

the one thing JFK did that has not been replicated since is to give our nation a significant challenge to meet. in his case, to put a man on the moon before the decade's end
our nation responds positively to such constructive challenges

I'm liberal but I think JFK was a terrible president.

The Cuban missile crisis was all his fault yet people praise him for dealing with a mess he created.

He botched the Bay of Pigs invasion. He's the one who weakened the invasion because he wanted to disguise our involvement. After the failure, the USSR did the rational thing. They tried to place missiles in Cuba to protect it from another invasion. And yes, JFK was planning another invasion.

The Cuban missile crisis ended because we agreed we wouldn't invade Cuba and the USSR wouldn't install missiles. But JFK almost ended human civilization through his incompetence.

Let's not forget that JFK dramatically escalated Vietnam because of his obsession over Communism. The whole Vietnam war and Domino theory was total nonsense.

One of the few good things about JFK is that he reluctantly supported Civil Rights.

Americans think John F. Kennedy was one of our greatest presidents. He wasn’t.

Oh, I won't even go into what an awful husband he was....I guess he and Trump also have that in common.

By past accuracy of Polling it more likely Trumps disapproval is in the low 40s. The Current polls are done by people and organizations that hate Trump and who know there is no upcoming election that their numbers are measured by.

He did not think poverty was a moral failing and so the poor should be left to die on the streets until they learn their lesson. He believed it was a civil society's moral responsibility to Watch out for its weakest and most vulnerable.

"If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich."
John F. Kennedy
