I have to say, it is refreshing to have a non-elitist, anti-establishment guy in the White House.

Donald J. Trump (‏Verified account) @realDonaldTrump

Just got to the #USWomensOpen in Bedminster, New Jersey. People are really happy with record high stock market - up over 17% since election!

There really was one born every minute. Wasn't there?

Hopefully the stock market keeps going and I can retire extra early!!!

I just love the irony.

As for retiring, money is less of a problem than the health insurance. I've been working for the latter since 2000 or so. The former has been taking care of itself rather nicely, especially since the second half of 2009.

trump trying to take credit for the Obama boom

The boom which they kept whining about when Obama was president.

More irony

trump's campaign has now spent $937,000 from his campaign funds on lawyers at Politico .

You know, as a dad, I really have to give credit to Trump for taking his 10 year old son out each weekend golfing and spending so much quality time with him.

Yeah right, most of the fly over folks only wish for a membership in a country club. As for money in the stock market, not most of us, we just get to read about it... Maybe the jobs will come along, might even get a shoe shine stand and be able to shine some of your shoes...

we never look down our nose, just use it to smell your approach....

You'd of course prefer to see the markets crash so you can blame Trump.

Your post shows that you completely missed the point of the thread.

Remember, these tweets aren't just innocent bragging about attending the US Open.... they are high profile advertising for an event that literally is putting money in his pocket by being held at his club.

Ethics experts heads are exploding.

Yeah. Someone pointed out that he tweeted about the US Open at least three or four times already today.

Why is it elitist for Trump to point out an improving stock market? Did you have the same criticism when Obama did it? Perhaps you are unaware of how many peoples retirement funds depend upon a rising market. Your Op's are making less and less sense

Yeah, I'm sure Joe Trump Voter in West Virginia is at a private golf club hearing Trump bragging about the stock market.

You somehow think that 'Joe Trump voter in West Virginia' wasn't aware that Trump was a billionaire with a private jet who lived at Mar a Lago and played golf at private clubs when he voted for him in November?? Seriously, think before you type.

I have a suspicion that if the stock market keeps booming, you will credit Obama, even if the boom lasts the rest of Trump's presidency. If it crashes, you will swiftly blame Trump.

The reality is crediting Obama for the stock market boom is silly. The market has been booming due to large cap technologies companies exploding. Are you really going to credit Obama for the success of Apple, Google, Netflix, Amazon, and Facebook?

LOL!

I'm glad you found something to worry about. But, what is it? Obviously stock prices are most reactive to pretty short term factors. Had he taken credit for growth, now....

trump trying to take credit for the Obama boom

I wouldn't say that it was for the Obama "boom" but for the move in stock prices. That might not be smart, as that index has a bubble feel about it and owning it might not be smart. But the economy might hold, if theworld economy does.
