Huffington Post Safari Into the Land of the Deplorables

Nope, just all facts. Republicans do want to repeal gay marriage. We had to fight them to legalize it for decades. White people are murdering people of color like crazy. Militia groups are swarming in rural areas. No hyperbole at all. Just current events.

Go back and read your own words. Pure hyperbole. I'm sure there are republicans who want to repeal gay marriage but it is hardly universal. Murdering like crazy. You don't see the hyperbole. I live in a rural area and I've never seen a militia group. I can't help but think you're a youngster. You haven't yet gained much common sense.

If your blinders are as heavy around your eyes in real life as they are here then it's no surprise you've not seen a militia group.

I'm using hyperbole in the same way you support Soviet Communism.

Staffers of the Huffington Post will board a bus and venture out into the vast unknown lands of America between the coasts to talk to the strange people who live there.

Or, more likely, in following with every journalist who ever lived, they wish to find people who they can use to launder their own opinions and preconceptions.

They have no interest in visiting "Trump Country" they say. Instead, they will visit pockets of blue within the red states. They make a point of wanting to get back to a big city before nightfall. So they aren't even trying.

Some archetypes we can expect them to exploit:

  • Muslim living in a city/town in a red state who “feels afraid.”
  • Illegal Immigrant living a red state who “feels uncertain”
  • Transgendered person living in a red state who “feels isolated.”
  • Lesbian couple living in a red state who “feel frustrated.”
  • A college professor living in a red state whose campus just legalized concealed carry who “feels isolated, frustrated, and afraid.”
  • Leftist Episcopalian lesbian pastor who will “feel confused and horrified” that any Christian could vote for Donald Trump.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Why do you hate Americans so much?

Oh brother.

Well considering that rabid psychopath Trumpanzees want to repeal gay marriage and they're outright murdering people of color like it's the 1800s all over again, and Trump country is crawling with inbred gun-toting militia... yeah, all of civilized society has reason to be afraid of Trump Country.

1 here, 2 there, nine on a really bad day... more people die at the hands of Conservatives and white supremacists than Muslims in America.

Sounds like you are describing Black on Black crime in Chicago.

Sorry, I didn't realize you are a troll. Take care.

Who or what is "Richochet.com"? Seems like you snuck into Rush Limbaugh's house, stole his toilet paper and read it to us. Sounds like an alt-right, B.S., liberal hate rag to me.

Well, if they come to Denver I suggest they stay away from East Colfax and the area immediately north of City Center. That's a rough area. On the other hand, they might be able to identify and show us who some of these 3,400 people who have unregistered to vote are. They could ask them if they are illegal aliens or not.

If they just want to limit themselves to blue enclaves in Colorado, they should stick to Boulder.

I print out stuff at the FedEx Office on East Colfax and have lunch at the Chinese restaurant (can't recall the name, but it's a step above a Panda Express) next to it all the time. I leave my rental car unlocked. Never had a problem there.

I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is. But hey, Lowdown, thanks for the daily update on the sort of detritus that's circling the bowl of the wingnut blogosphere.

I think the point If HuffPuff is claiming to do a back to basic talk to the people tour. The article hints that instead of an honest talk to people the HuffPuff will target the folks they think will provide the answers to back up their preconceived notions of how terrible It is.

I can almost predict who will use the article one complete to start another Life Sucks Under Trump thread

Can you quantify the term "like crazy" How many is that?

I don't know about everybody, but for me last week it was 5. Missed Tuesday as I was at the Klan meeting. I always take off Sunday to thump my Bible.

What a strange made up world you live in.

There were 220 blacks killed by whites last year in the US compared to 550 whites killed by blacks. These together account for 16% of all homicides, according to the FBI.

If you total up all the militia activity in the US you have a small amount of crime done by small groups of people. You can total up all the anti-government crime by militia groups last year on one hand.

The usual suspects are pissing their pants over the increase in militia membership we've seen recently, but this is something that always happens in times of national stress. The FBI has long regarded the vast majority of militias as reactive and posing no threat.
