Obama didn't get a fair shake from right wing talk radio and the commentary faction of Fox News. Trump is being openly persecuted by literally the entire MSM. If you are trying to claim that it's the same thing just coming from the other side of aisle then you aren't paying attention.
Another important distinction is the opposition to Obama(first term) was geared around defeating him at the ballot box in 2012. The opposition to Trump is focused on removing him from office before his first term is up. Do you understand the precedent this sets going forward?
So there are two factors at play here: Deserved and proper criticism and opposition, and undeserved and improper criticism and opposition. I am going to assume that you acknowledge that is a valid distinction, as in if Hypothetical President A who is fantastic in almost every way is fiercely opposed and criticized because he is, I dunno, red headed, that would be improper and undeserved. Meanwhile is President B ate babies and wanted to kick out all the Jews, then fierce and loud opposition and criticism would be deserved and proper.
Right? You agree that not all presidents are equal and that some presidents will be harsher criticized and opposed because their policies and positions are far worse than others.
So, what I am saying is that Obama won his election by a wide margin, and while by no means perfect (is there any such thing as a perfect president) was fairly centrist and moderate by the standards of say the last 30 years or so. And yet he faced obstruction on a level unprecedented in modern history. That is impossible to deny. There was nothing about his policies or positions or statements that was in any way shape or form outside the normal middle range of US politics, and yet he was treated worst than essentially any president since the reconstruction.
Meanwhile Trump, you can fairly argue, get even worse coverage and criticism, that's true....but unlike Obama his administration is an actual dumpster fire and his positions and policies and attitude and actions are, in fact, unprecedented, ergo an unprecedented level of negative reaction is warranted.
TLDR: Yes, Trump is criticized more, but he is an unprecedented disaster, so that is a proper reaction. Meanwhile Obama was by any possible historical standard fairly moderate and barely left of center, making the historic obstructionism unfounded and, well, not a fair shake.
Also, Trump has all three branches of government in his party, and still can't get anything passed. He's not being obstructed by the other party, his own party has all the vote they need to pass anything, but cant. Perhaps the fact that even his own party pays him lip service but obviously isn't eager to push any of his agendas should indicate that he is toxic. Its like my Dad told me "if you ever find yourself looking around and thinking everyone else has an attitude problem, maybe its actually you that has the attitude problem."
