Meanwhile In Afghanistan

yes, someone is dreaming but it isn't me; reality is out there for America to find, and it aint our past ...........

Actually, our past shows exactly what happened when America tried to hide behind the oceans and pretend that it could ignore the rest of the world. Spoiler alert; nothing good.

well, the way I see it this DUMBASS WAR in Afghanistan was the handy work of George W. Butthole

bad choice W., and we're still there; for what?

Hell of a legacy that W. fella got himself, 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, worst economic crash since the Great Depression

I'm sure Trump will make all of that look like an ant hill though .................. just give him some time ..............

What did Obama do in his 8 years to end it..............as promised? I see you skipped from Bush to Donald.

For himself and his many business associates, it was a great choice, great decision. Think of how much money they've plundered from the US Treasury!

It doesnt matter. Neither of them are President NOW. And neither of them, nor Trump, are congress, who actually has the power to wage war, fund the military and direct the President. Everyone is to blame, and that is not saving the lives of a single soldier.

Youre the one in here complaining about people who arent even in office. And ignoring that soldiers are actually dying TODAY. Partisan is being prejudiced in favor of a particular cause, in this case, the disruption of Republicans. That describes you.

"You are preaching to the choir my friend." RU #31
a) AUTHORITY to wage war is an ENTIRELY different issue than

b) having a viable STRATEGY for winning; for actually accomplishing the ostensible goals we have there.

At this point we're marching our troops into the meat grinder at the cost of $1,000,000.oo per pair of boots.

As recently as last Sunday Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain (R-AZ) acknowledged the Trump administration has no strategy for victory in Afghanistan.

Adding troops is not a strategy.

Ok, and why are you more concerned about that than whats actually going on today?

Im not concerned about the money, im concerned about the lives being lost. And its hardly a meat grinder. Hyberbole doesnt help.

"Im not concerned about the money" j5
The grandkids should be.
THEY are $20 $Trillion in $debt, and we're raking them over the coals.
"im concerned about the lives being lost." j5
You think I'm not?
Lives lost.
Limbs lost.
I'm glad I didn't have to deal with IEDs when I served.
"And its hardly a meat grinder." j5
Some corpses are mangled worse than others.

Find a funeral where the corpse, or what's left of one is being interred, tap the widow and the bereaved parents on the shoulders and tell them "it's hardly a meat grinder". They'll be so relieved!!
"Hyberbole doesnt help." j5
Thank god we have an authority whose opinion is not merely decisive, but conclusively final!

On how long the war:
The Bush administration had my support for the war. I thought their message to the Taliban was sensible:

- You're harboring UBL, a dangerous international fugitive.

- You hand UBL over, or we'll come in and get him. And while we're there, we'll take you out too.

The Taliban didn't. So Bush did.

BUT !!

The Bushies bungled it literally from day one!
Ceding Tora Bora perimeter security to local mercenaries was ABSOLUTE LUNACY !!

It could have been one of the shortest wars in U.S. history. Instead it's the longest.

It took a Democrat to finally settle up with UBL. The Republicans just aren't up to it.
