When Media is the Enemy?

My point is, you claim that calling them what they are is somehow a recruiting tool. Who cares if their feelings are hurt? What about the feelings of victims of terror, of Americans? I could care less how some terrorist feels.

Again, using your logic, I bet drones are a far better recruiting tool.

Actually, Trump is a far better recruiting tool....

It's not about their feelings....it's about what propaganda they can use to recruit and legitimize a US war on Islam to fulfill some Koranic prophecy to build a new caliphate.

"Never mind ISIS, Al Qaeda, North Korea, Putin...the real enemy is CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo and Morning Joe."

What does it suggest to you when the argument for weeks on end is that media is the enemy?

I find that to be totally bizarre.

I imagine it may depend on which side of the aisle you sit. To almost every Democrat Fox is an enemy. You see Fox described as such in so many words almost daily on this site by Democrats. CNN, MSNBC are enemies to Republicans which they also describe them in such words that come out meaning enemy.

So what does the public at large think of the media? Does the public trust the media to report the news accurately and fairly? Only 32% do. That is trust the media to report the news fully, fairly and accurately either a great deal or a fair amount of the time.

Perhaps reporting the news with a bias, a political slant and even a political agenda doesn't make them an enemy, or does it? If you can't trust the news being reported, what good is viewing reports of it? Then again, when you have news channels pushing a political agenda, favoring one political party over the other, trying to influence the way one thinks. Maybe the news stations are nothing more than political propagandist?

This is a hole the political agendist at Fox, MSNBC, CNN have dug for themselves. The left or Democrats won't watch FOX and the right or Republicans don't switch on MSNBC or CNN. Each goes to the station that reinforces their political beliefs. They don't go to them to get accurate and fully reported news.

So now that they have been displaced from their caliphate to scatter across the globe, where do we send the drones?

Thanks to drones. But ISIS is not being displaced in Iraq or Syria....instead they're fighting to the death.

Trump has been the only President in this nation's history that was stupid enough to make enemies out of the 3 most powerful agencies in this country. The media, our intelligence agencies, and now the DOJ.

The more he calls the media FAKE, the more they will write and report. The more he insults our intelligence agencies, claiming that Russia is just a "ruse", the more he implicates himself into a coverup and the deeper they will dig. The more he attacks James Comey, and now deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the more they will leak to the media.

When Dictators take over a country the very first thing that gets shut down is the media. No one is allowed to criticise the chosen one. The only mediia that is allowed is those that continually praise the chosen one.

Trump may think he's a dictator- his supporters may even think he's a dictator---but it's not going to happen in this country. Because the Free Press in this country has always been what keeps us FREE. :usflag2:

68% of voters do not trust the media.

When did people who disagree with you and talk about that disagreement from their own POV become 'the enemy'. In a civil society there can be vigorous disagreement without enmity. Why the need for demonisation of groups or people with differing points of view? I can understand why cynical and morally bankrupt statists would try to do this in order to divide and rule a populace but why do citizens turn on each other so visciously? What's to be gained from such peer-to-peer demonisation?

Cheers.

Depends on what they mean by media. Everyone trusts their media. It's the other side's media that no one trust.
