We've become a nation of spoiled brats

View attachment 67219406

We've become a nation of spoiled brats. The Republicans consider ways to re-package Obamacare, and protesters take to the streets screaming how doing this will "make people sick" or "harm" them, and so on.

How did we get to a point where re-considering governmental wealth redistribution "harms" people or "makes them sick"? This is not about harming anybody - it's about MONEY: who gets it, and what they get to spend it on. What "harms" them is whatever disease they have, and some of us question the notion that big, expensive government is the cure.

If you want to talk about "harming" people, how about all the harm on us taxpayers when government takes bigger and bigger chunks of our paychecks? Or the harm to society when we teach our children that government will take care of them?

Your criticism is actually way too light. We are not a nation of spoiled brats, we are a nation of total and complete idiots who believe the BS the media tells us about our "exceptionalism" and we are somehow entitled to have everything we want handed to us despite the fact that most of us are worthless slugs who have no skills, education, or ambition.

WE deserve to lose our freedom, our standard of living, and mostly our entitlements. There is a reckoning coming, and many of these snowflakes will not survive it.

Is that why the health insurance industry would oppose putting caps on prices or regulating the cost of healthcare?

Massachusetts has been kicking around caps on price increases (and actual price caps for state employee insurance plans) for about six months. The GOP governor included them in his budget, whereas the Dem legislature didn't include them in theirs. https://www.debatepolitics.com/heal...nor-proposes-regulate-health-care-prices.html

Local insurers haven't been particularly vocal either way but seem broadly supportive of some sort of state action to address price variation: Insurers press case for fix to hospital cost variations.
