"People asked me if I was a Zionist and I said 'Yes, I do care about the state of Israel but I also believe in a two-state solution and an independent Palestine,'" Grauer told the Windy Times. "It's hard to swallow the idea of inclusion when you are excluding people from that. People are saying 'You can be gay but not in this way.' We do not feel welcomed. We do not feel included."Grauer is listed as the Midwest Manager of Programs and Operations for A Wider Bridge, an organization supporting the LGBT community in Israel. The Dyke March statement condemned A Wider Bridge for allegedly "using Israel's supposed 'LGBTQ tolerance' to pinkwash the violent occupation of Palestine."
"An annual march celebrating inclusion and acceptance was hijacked ... by those who believe Jews do not belong to the LGBTQ community," said American Jewish Committee Chicago Director Amy Stoken. "Shame on the organizers of the Dyke March for not ensuring Jewish marchers can participate as freely as any other participant.
Women with Star of David flags told to leave Chicago gay pride march | Fox News

This is about intolerance masquerading as tolerance. And the schadenfreude of SJW's infighting.

Why were they bringing Zionism to a gay pride march? If the KKK showed up, they'd get the boot too.

Just imagine if someone showed up to a zionist parade with rainbow flags and were asked to leave.

You'd think the one country in the ME that is mostly tolerant of the LGBT community wouldn't have any problems marching... If I'm not mistaken LGBT individuals are punished by death in most countries (including the Palestinian Territories). I very much dislike how many of these organizers or LGBT leaders want to make being pro-LGBT or wanting to celebrate Pride Month as being synonymous with hard left progressivism.

Significantly, Laurel Grauer also said, ""It was a flag from my congregation which celebrates my queer, Jewish identity which I have done for over a decade marching in the Dyke March with the same flag." She says she was harassed and told that her flag made others feel "unsafe." The Dyke March people tell a different story, that Grauer and two others "repeatedly expressed support for Zionism during conversations with Chicago Dyke March Collective members."
52180 - More than 1,500 at Dyke March in Little Village, Jewish Pride flags banned (UPDATED June 25) - Gay Lesbian Bi Trans News Archive - Windy City Times

According to Jennifer Van Laar, writing at Townhall, another flag was also banned--the American flag, which is a symbol of oppression. Van Laar asks, and I agree with her: "What's next for Dyke March officials? Will they ask participants to fill out a detailed social issue position questionnaire prior to admittance?" https://townhall.com/tipsheet/jennifervanlaar/2017/06/25/dyke-march-triggered-star-of-david-n2346529

So much for "inclusiveness."

WE want to be accepted and tolerated and be treated as equal, but

Ok, so I first thought they were just randomly asking people if they were Zionists and kicking them out if they said yes. That would of course be ridiculous. But they were actually waving a flag. Which makes it a little more complicated. Perhaps the parade organizers just don't want the parade to be hijacked by other causes. I would need to know how the organizers would have reacted if it had been a Palestine flag before I pass judgement on the Zionism connection.

Zionism aside, I can certainly understand why a Star of David would be unwelcome at a gay pride parade. Have you read what the Old Testament says about gays?

Yea but the star has multiple representations (like the Confederate flag).
It's a religion, an ethnic group and a state.

All true. It is hard for me to judge the action either way without other scenarios to compare it too.

The Dykes March organization put out a statement saying that they asked the three to leave after it became clear they were there to pick a fight with other marchers. It also turned out that the three were from a pro-Israeli group called A Wider Bridge. Dukes March reiterated that the organization is anti-Zionist in any form and supports a free Palestine.

I'm pretty sure it's much less about the religion and much more about the progressive fad of unironically supporting Palestine.
Ironic? How so?

Some progressive groups have really had an uptake of anti Zionism here lately.
It's really weird that the biggest supporters of Zionism and Jews in Israel are often evangelical Christian conservatives.

It's not at all. Evangelical Christians believe that the return of Jews to the Holy Land is in accordance to Biblical prophecy, and some go further to believe it's a prerequisite for the second coming of Jesus Christ. In fact nearly 60% of evangelical Christians and roughly half of American Christians believe that Jesus Christ will be returning to Earth in 40 years.

A company, country or individual wrapping themselves in a gay flag does not make their unrelated products, public policies or actions acceptable or excusable.

That's ****ing hilarious.

It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone as it's pretty much common knowledge nowadays that that far-left and hard-left are even more associated with antisemitism than the far-right is.
Ironic that people who claim to support the rights of a minority are more likely to be against the same rights for another minority.
