Funally caught! Putin himself caught directing the election hacks

Apparently. Comey himself said they never looked at their servers themselves.

The Democrats for whatever reason decided to go with a very foreign partisan IT group rather than the official investigation. The IT group predictably found the way the DNC wanted to be found. There can be only one reason for that. There was something on the computers the DNC did not want to be found.

Weird. You say he's "absolutely correct" that you can't blame this on Trump supporters, and then you blame it on Trump supporters.

I am not blaming Trump supporters for the hacking. But I am suggesting that their sheer level of craziness, loudness, and blind passion probably scared and intimidated officials like Obama and Comey into doing, or not doing, certain things that they should have otherwise done.

You are absolutely correct. I was just trying to figure out what could have kept Obama from responding to this more aggressively. I think if he had brought up this issue, the Trump supporters would have been so crazed that they would literally be out and looking at some "Second Amendment remedies". They may not have been the majority of the electorate, but their passion was literally boiling over. I think it was the same kind of passion that scared Comey into leaking the Email investigation days before the election. The fierce passion of the Trump supporters had obviously really scared and intimidated everyone from Obama to Comey, and made them do things that may not have been well thought through. I think Obama decided to play it cool, thinking there is no way Americans as a whole were crazy enough to vote for Trump, and then Hillary could address the issue after she was president. He may have miscalculated.

You have GOT to be kidding.

Trump supporters were viewed as deplorables backing a buffoon who had no business running and no chance of winning. They were the butt of jokes and to believe that they had somehow managed to "intimidate" Obama into altering anything is about the silliest thing I've ever heard.

Good point. I don't see how they could of intimidated Obama to do anything.

If any of our "officials" are so easily intimidated, they need to get out!

They certainly were viewed as buffoons and deplorables, but that did not make them potentially any less dangerous. You can have crazed buffoons and deplorables. Lots of them.

Now I am hearing that in response to this, Obama had told Putin to "stop or else". Or else what? Sounds like someone talking to their five-year-old.

Why? What did the republicans do?

They may have someone in the White House who was pushed over the edge by a hostile foreign power, by exploiting and playing on the massive amounts of ignorance and bigotry of particular demographics in this country.

So now Ditzy Debbie is claiming that the FBI never had an interest in the DNC computers even though they were investigating?

That's what she is claiming. Perhaps the Obama administration was too busy spying on political enemies to worry about the DNC.

Don't you think we should get to the bottom of this? Someone is obviously lying.

Sheer nonsense. Comey had successfully positioned as the most non partisan mam with the most integrity in DC. Obama for 8 years had shown no inclination to be intimidated by anyone. Probably because he was generally clueless.

Trumpsters did show passion for their cause. But blind passion? I don't think so. Focused? Crazy? Not so. Loud? Absolutely.

Indeed. If Putin were personally directing election mischief and hacking, and Obama knew about it and didn't do anything, especially for partisan reasons, that sounds really, really bad for Obama.

I don't think that's how this is looking though.
CIA/Intelligence knew, it was just classified. They worked on it, in secret. They were doing something about it before Obama was aware (it's how they work!), and they notified him to make him aware. He wanted (allegedly) to keep it classified, i.e. not public. There is no "Obama did nothing" here, things were being done...they were just tight on keeping it highly classified, that's hardly "doing nothing".

On matters of national security related to counter intelligence and sources deep in Russian government, you think it should NOT be classified?

It may be that there was no reason at all to ever go public with any of it, ever. The reason it became public over time is because of how it was tied to the U.S. presidential election.

If he jumps the gun and cries foul BEFORE the election, it would look like Obama was trying to intentionally manipulate the election in favor of HRC - you wanted that...really?
So he kept it under wraps, to be investigated after the election.

Sounds like he did a good, reasonable thing. That's hardly "for partisan" reasons so much as it is to not obstruct the U.S. election by his own hand.

(if any of this is true, etc of course)

Now I am hearing that in response to this, Obama had told Putin to "stop or else". Or else what? Sounds like someone talking to their five-year-old.

Oh, this is interesting: the "or else" was that Obama apparently ordered "cyber bombs" planted into the Russian cyber network, designed to go off if there was any evidence of further meddling. They were saying that those should still be there, unless Trump specifically has asked for them to be removed.

That's what she is claiming. Perhaps the Obama administration was too busy spying on political enemies to worry about the DNC.

I'm not sure it matters all that much whether or not we get to the bottom of this. I'm not sure there is a this. It's a given that nations who can, including ours, take an interest in each other's elections along with everything else other nations do. That's why we have intelligence agencies. Huge ones.

Nothing will be changed if we ever get to the bottom of this. The Russkie thing is just an excuse.

Trump told them that violence was OK, even encouraged, at his rallies. He told them would cover any resulting legal bills. They cheered him loudly for it, and voted for him anyway. That is crazed and deplorable.

You remember that video of Trump on his European trip shoving aside the prime minister of Montenegro to stand in front of the crowd? How shockingly rude and boorish it looked to everyone? Well, it turns out they did a poll of Trump supporters, and they found that this actually was Seen as a good thing. That's not just embarrassing, that is crazed and deplorable.

Obama, if he could do anything well, is a master of the serious threat. Or else's, red lines in the sand. All in a days work. Failure to follow up was his problem.

I am hearing this on CNN right now, although I do not see it yet on Google. It seemed Obama had been informed of this, but made the decision to tread lightly because he did not want to appear to be meddling.

This could be huge.

ok once again hacking the DNC is not hacking the election.
the DNC is not the election it is the DNC which is a political organization.

hacking the election would be hacking voter counts or other things like that.

those things did not occur so please stop saying that Russia hacked the election because they didn't.
maybe the DNC should see what the RNC does to prevent cyber intrusion.

ol yea they don't click on links that say view new celebrity pics here.

"Could be" means "could be"; not "will be".

What do I mean by huge? I would be OK with it just being Trump finally acknowledging that this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. That would be pretty huge.

companies get hacked all the time.
the DNC should have better cyber security in place.

that is not trumps issue. the DNC is responsible for it's network security not trump.

Yeah, real foreign...

Comey acknowledged they were pro's.

You're veering far from the OP into Trump bashing. Much of which is taken out of context or unsupported.

You appear correct. Who am I thinking of?

You're blaming Trump supporters for Obama's (apparent) inaction and culpability.

Not to mention that at the time, Trump supporters were to be laughed and not taken seriously.
