Have you noticed partisanship becoming more polarized?

I do think like many natural phenomenon, it's cyclical.

I do think the current causes have to do with:
If it were "just politics" I don't think it would get *that* vitriolic.
It's spread out to include what seems to be an attack on science, reality, truth, and common sense. It's also, deserving its own category (that does all of that as well, or magnifies it), is an attack on the media. These go beyond political partisanship, into the core of a free society. That can get the blood going.

The attack on the media came in two forms. The indirect attack on the news/media with the advent of Fox news and similar (now MSNBC to a degree, etc), that seems to intentionally mix opinion/news such that the "news" is largely indistinguishable from hyper partisan non-journalists.
And secondarily, they literally have attacked mainstream media, with their fearless leader Trump (who was subject to their propaganda apparently) spearheading that charge.

Some of this is unprecedented, but some has ebbed/flowed historically.

When we encounter people who want to win without observing ethical constraints, it's our duty to put it down. If we don't, we sow the seeds for our own demise.
