Trump WH tapes and Obama's birth certificate

I seem to recall Trump boasting on several occasions about how he had paid investigators in Hawaii and they were finding "shocking" facts about how Obama was NOT born in the USA. He pledged over and over to produce these findings but never did. In fact, he eventually had to admit that Obama was born in the USA.

My guess is that the same thing will happen with regards to the existence of the tapes, but the excuse will go something like this: "Yes, I have tapes, and yes they corroborate my version of the Comey events. That said, I have decided that it would be in the best interest of the country, not myself, that these recordings be kept confidential. As always, I am putting the best interest of the country instead of my personal interests".

Or some other litany of usual Trump rhetoric.
 
Trump said Comey better hope there were no tapes of their conversation before Comey started leaking.

That is not saying there were tapes. But it does suggest Trump new at that time Comey was a leaker.


Saying such would indeed influence a leaker not to lie.
Purpose served.

He can never acknowledge the existence of the tapes and withhold them, without putting himself in legal jeopardy. Once he affirms they exist, he can legally be held responsible to produce them.

For this reason I believe he will never come clean on their existence, and if they did exist they're likely long erased.

So did Comey lie? lol Trump said that Comey lied. So according to Trump the purpose wasn't served.

I was thinking more along the line of making more **** up than that which was already out there.
