And polls are only right when it is favorable to the republicans.
GOP polling outfit Trafalgar Group hit the EC numbers on the head election eve, though they missed on WI, NV, and NH. I don't even look at national polls anymore, since they mean as much as the national popular vote.
PPD, a GOP firm, had trump up 52-45 in FL recently. The 2017 Texas Lyceum Poll, supposedly independent, is worth an easy search. They had trump at 43-54, Abbott at 53-30, and Cruz and O'Rourke tied at 30.
I felt there were some of the 'hidden voter' and 'shy Tory' effects in the TL poll, similar to polls that under polled trump last year. There are plenty of approval polls out there in the 20 or so swing states .
