U.S. equities traded mostly lower on Thursday as Wall Street digested former FBI Director James Comey's testimony.

The Dow Jones industrial average hit an intraday record before slipping about 30 points, with UnitedHealth contributing the most losses.

"There were no major bombshells from Comey's testimony," said Lindsey Bell, investment strategist at CFRA, adding the market experienced a small "relief rally" that pushed the 30-stock index to a new high.

Of course Wall Street doesn't give a damn, the wealth extraction continues unabated.

That's an interesting term to use, "extraction". Extracted from what?

In this context, society, amerian society, the middle east, Appalachia, and on, and on, and on. America is still a colonial wealth extraction enterprise updated for a new age.

Liberals will never stop trying to destroy the economy. Whenever Trump is in danger the market tanks. When Trump looks good so does the stock market. Liberals would rather see our economy in ruins than allow Trump to succeed.

Woot, some bankers got richer!!!

I am afraid I cannot follow your shorthand. Other than excessive fees at certain brokerage houses (which mainly affect wealthy clients), how does the stock market's performance indicate "colonial wealth extraction"?

They recently tanked the entire show and then begged for socialism via bailouts, your entire economic system is being sodomized to the detriment of the poor and working classes. Go look at the transfer of wealth and redistribution over the past half century. What are we doing across the globe and in the middle east if not economical colonial wealth extration?

Well you know what they say, if you gotta ask ..... 😎

I'm guessing a combination of extraction from the vast majority of the U.S. work force's labor, coupled with the natural resources of the United States.

As illustrated:
I'm pretty sure the middle class, and maybe even the 2nd to last 20%, are working...looks like the big squeeze.

I could be wrong, but it sound to me like you think that Big Banks = Wall Street = stock market = U.S. capitalism. The terms are not synonymous. There are overlaps, but they are very distinct entities.

Wealth gap doesn't mean it's being extracted from anyone. The top people play the stock market and commodities trade or their wealth has expanded due to globalization, which hasn't been a friend of the American worker. Why pay American workers much when you can pay foreign workers so much less?
