Televison in america is corporate state PR, nothing more, your entire media machine is owned outright by 6 major multinationa corporations; down from 50 some odd companies back in the 1980s.

K, got it.

Yeah, he did use "came apart", but the excerpt was ended in mid thought. I'd like to see the rest for context before drawing a full conclusion.

I like Mathews, and think he's pretty good in his analysis.

Thanks for supplying that.

Yeah, I pretty much agree and that's where my thought process has been leading up to the hearing.

I thought it's much more likely Trump's campaign gets hit for some ancillary legal issue besides electioneering. Likely something involving money and inappropriate business profit.

And I, like Mathews it seems, believe Trump is hiding something, but what?

I think it's unlikely Trump himself colluded, and only possible his campaign did. I personally think they simply got played by Putin. But I do think it's very possible everyone involved played fast and loose to possible illegality.

Chris Matthews: Trump-Russia collusion theory 'came apart' with Comey testimony

"And yet what came apart this morning was that theory," Matthews said, listing two reasons why. First, he said Comey revealed that "Flynn wasn't central to the Russian investigation," and secondly, he said that kills the idea that Flynn might have been in a position to testify against Trump.
"And if that's not the case, where's the there-there?" Matthews said.

Yes. Fishking on these forums pointed out to me that there was unlikely for there to be any need for evidence in the first place, months ago. And it could be blackmail, Putin could have the goods on him and Trump has to play ball. There won't be any evidence of this necessarily, it will be Russian intelligence from Trump's trips/dealings with Russians. But just as likely seems to be that Trump is just this bad at politics.

Liberal MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Thursday the accusation that President Trump directly colluded with Russia to interfere in the U.S. election "came apart" following former FBI Director James Comey's testimony in front of Congress.

:lamo:lamo

That's been obvious for months, but it begs the question:

There has been no collusion between Trump and Russia, but there has been involvement by the Russians trying to influence the election. Nothing that would result in changing the results (as if the Blue Wall fell because of the Russians and not Obama's pathetic economic scheme for America, and that Hillary basically wanted more of the same insanity... and the fact she couldn't find the time to visit those states)...

Now the question... What did Obama do to stop the Russians, why was he so pathetic, and why did he claim there was no Russian interference for months leading up to the election?

Not too much because he didn't have to worry about it hurting him. He was gearing up for his farewell tour.
why was he so pathetic,
he got his so scene the rest he's out
and why did he claim there was no Russian interference for months leading up to the election?
No love lost between him and Clinton. Obama, like most people, though this was going to be a Clinton landslide. I think he kind of enjoyed watching her squirm. By the time he realised Trump may have even a slight chance he had to switch narratives

Seems to me that a lot of media outlets, Democrats, and those from the left side of the political spectrum (including those here on DP) that have been hyping (over-hyping) this unsubstantiated narrative all need to eat a healthy dose of crow, and if they had any integrity or honesty at all, even the slightest minuscule, should publicly apologize for this over-hyping.
:2mad:

Realizing the integrity and honesty of those that I've just described, I'm not holding my breath.

Besides this source as hearsay, is there a link to Mathews himself?

It's a clip, but to me, it looks abbreviated. It's like it's taken out of context.

The hunters won't let THIS little setback stop them from going after the witch.

Yes let's just completely make up theories. Seems like the right thing to do when you didn't get what you want with Comey testifying.

Here's my issue with the Russian influencing the election issue...

Trump Republicans seem more focused on declaring it all fake or a non-issue.

Anti-Trump Republicans and Democrats are primarily focusing on Trump, any wrongdoing in his campaign, and any wrongdoing that came from the process of looking at the wrongdoing.

And no one actually seems to be focusing first and foremost on the actual RUSSIANS. Hopefully, the special prosecutor is the one focusing on that at least.
