Comey Testimony: Republican Senators Dining, Meeting With Trump Two Days Before FBI Director

Nothing like trying to influence a couple of key senators prior to a very important hearing. I guess Trump has forgotten the insulting things that he said about Rubio. I wonder if Rubio has forgotten about them too?

The interesting part is that by inviting these guys to dinner, Trump has put a "spotlight" on them with respect to watching very closely how they question Comey.

The dinner certainly has a bad "optic" to it, but does make perfect sense if Trump has something to hide.

Why would you think that meeting Senators for dinner has a bad "optic" or looks as though Trump might have something to hide? It just seems smarter than I would have expected necessarily.
 
OMG! The POTUS is having a dinner meeting with *gasp* congress critters from his own party! ;)

Other Republican lawmakers from both the Senate and the House of Representatives, but no members of the intelligence committee, are also scheduled to attend the dinner at the White House residence, according to the Examiner.
