The attacker is apparently still alive, but injured.

I saw the headline. I thought it was referring to the school in Indiana. Anyway, report I saw said it was just a nut attacking a cop with a hammer.
 
Last I looked he was bleeding out on the floor outside Notre Dame while the ambulance got there.

Paramedics and Dr now in attendance. Shot in the throat.

For a minute I thought that was "Notre Dame" in the U.S. but it's Notre Dame in France.

Apparently only one officer was injured and only "lightly".

My speculation is this was a crazy person, perhaps inspired by recent terrorist attacks. Otherwise it is the laziest, least planned terrorist attack I have heard of in recent history.
 
If only there were some common denominator among all these
incidents.
