No, but my personal standard is that nudity, itself, isn't a big deal.

If a guy is pissing on the side of the road, that shouldn't make him a sex offender. Guy twitched on the floor a little. Bit weird. Inappropriate, especially considering the age group. But throwing him in prison? Lol wtf...?

Really? He was pointing out the title is intentionally misleading and goes alongside the biases and agendas of the posters here, same with the clip that used freeze frame selectively. He also made it clear that despite all this, the performance was totally inappropriate and whoever put this on should be fired. I agree. Drag shows don't necessarily have to be smutty, but that's the risk they took.

So the only question left to me is if it was a female performer doing this, would the reactions be the same?

I have to say no all around. Some posters here like the OP and countryboy and kal'stang would not be flipping out as much or even responding, and same with the clip commentary. Ungodly? Sex offender registry? These are all irrational or irrelevant reactions to a lifestyle they disapprove of

That is a really stupid comment in so many ways

There was no nudity and there is no need or excuse for adult nudity at an elementary school. It was sexually explicit which nudity does not have to be and is possible even when clothed. You should be able to easily sweep aside the hysterical reactions without bringing up nudity and american prudishness at all. Do i need to go on?

Not really.

I don't necessarily consider the incidental observation of sexually explicit material as inherently traumatizing. The average age for seeing pornography is 10 years old- thanks to the internet i started at just 6 years old. Seems like something all people come to understand and handle in some manner.

Some creepy guy who exposes himself at the mall is still a problem. But the problem i see there is really that the parents should be the ones to consent to what their child is exposed to, not that any children who catch a glimpse are all going to be completely ruined for life. I wouldn't be surprised if treating them like it should traumatize them could even make it worse.

So the problem for me is really what a surprise it was to the parents, and that's really up to them rather than to me.

When I was in elementary school there was a similar uproar over the high school putting on a performance of some scenes from Chicago. What the video showed was not all that dissimilar from my experience, but I would agree it was inappropriate

Yep, that looks really bad. My husband would be screaming mad if that happened where our future kids go to school. I would be pissed too, but I would probably act calmer in comparison to him.

I was really shocked by the part he did on the floor. If he didn't do that whole bit, it probably wouldn't have ticked so many people off.

A DRAG QUEEN, in an elementary school, nothing about it is remotely appropriate, don't give a damn if it only suggestively raised it's leg once. Setting foot on the property was the first unacceptable part.

I'm not disagreeing. There was nothing remotely appropriate about it. My only contention was the the article was completely misleading and left the impression of a much more lewd performance. Don't get me wrong....this performance was lewd enough that parents were rightfully upset. I just thought the article was an oversensationalized propaganda piece.
