I watched with great interest the Rose Garden event where Trump stated that we were pulling out of the Paris Accord. What I found to be most interesting is the "stage presentation" performance that was given. First, you had Pence giving "glowing" remarks referencing the "brilliance" of Trump - only to have Trump then make a grand stage entrance. This exaggerated hyperbole was followed by Scott Pruitt lavishing even more praise and admiration on Trump. The effects of which were highly visible on the smiling face of our ego maniac POTUS.

And the Marine jazz band played on...

That was weird especially during such a negative occasion. And I'm not aware of a president ever having a band play in the rose garden during a speech.

It is only a "negative occasion" to those who support the Paris accords.

It is a "positive occasion" to Trump and anyone else who thought the Paris accords were detrimental to the interests of the United States. That they were unenforceable, and not likely to make much real difference when all the facts show that "climate change" is a naturally occurring phenomena throughout Earth's several billion year existence. Historical changes often significantly more drastic than the "models" being used by the global warming enthusiasts.

Yeah, Pruitt is a lunatic, but he's savvy, he knows how to push Trump's buttons for sure. Listening to him blow smoke up Trump's ass, knowing it was 100% Pruitt's goal to trash everything EPA/climate related, just sad.

Simply feeding the ego of an insecure and fragile POTUS. Easy to figure out really, but the "Trumpbots" sure have a hard time seeing it.

You remind me a lot of Ron Paul.

Trump is EASY to play. Be the last person to kiss his ass and "suck up" and you will get what you are after.

When I saw/hear Pruitt saying all that stuff, it was surreal. Why as an announcement on pulling out of a globally joined (everyone globally!) being peppered with Pruitt kissing his bosses ass? It was so obvious, and so inappropriate, yet that's what we have isn't it. Republicans have always liked the easily manipulated. I mean, who else would give the finger to the rest of the world and the entire population, except for the ultra-rich/big business? Reagan they thought was a goofball and would be easily manipulated, to a degree he was but he was also a man of conviction. Bush Jr., boy they hit a home run with him...Cheney and the neocons basically had the house to themselves, Bush flat out said he didn't want to be involved in all that stuff..no manipulation needed! And now Trump...
Trump's so bad, basically if you're a warm body with a modicum of popular support (of any kind), and you kiss his ass and stay "loyal", he's all yours.

You forgot to mention the Jazz Combo!

I read a comment yesterday that said if they just changed the name from the Paris Accord to the Trump Accord, and not change anything else in it, Trump wouldn't have pulled out. It was meant to be a joke but I would bet money it is true.

Do you have feeling that we soon will start putting "all knowing", "all wise", "honorable leader" phrases, before President Trump....You know just like any third world country...

Ironically by pulling out of Paris accord we have joined the ranks of Nicaragua and Syria...kind of fitting if you will.

I always find such comments rather idiotic. Every time I see them I think "well, if everyone was jumping off the Empire State Building would you follow suit also?"

I don't know anything about the Paris Accords. Could really care less either way about them as a result. But even I know that doing something just because all the other people are doing it doesn't mean that its a good idea and to use such a comment is imo lazy argumentation.

Talking about Idiotic..

SO you think coming to agreement, that hey maybe we should stop ****ting all over our planet and instead working to find better ways of producing energy, which has systematically proven that it actually produces more job and economic growth, Which also not only all nearly 200 countries have agreed that is the best way, but also nearly all industries, including Shell, and Chevron and many others...is equivalent to jumping off the building???

That is your equivalence argument?

Wow!!!!

Mind showing me anywhere I said anything for or against the Paris Agreement? No? Then you can stop with the strawman arguments. ;) Your argument of "well everyone likes it" is the equivalent of jumping off the Empire State Building just because everyone else does it. Everyone once agreed that the world was flat, doesn't mean that they were right. Everyone once agreed that it was impossible to fly, doesn't mean that they were right. If its as great as you say then you should have no problem arguing on those points alone. Argumentum ad populum is considered a fallacy for a reason.

There are a lot of very well respected people who think that remaining a part of the Paris Accord was the right thing to do. To date, Trump has shown little ability to analyze anything and get it right.

Let me use your own analogy in a different way. Keeping a campaign promise (if you come to feel differently about the subject), just to keep a campaign promise, is equally as ignorant.
