(CNN)Fired FBI director James Comey plans to testify publicly in the Senate as early as next week to confirm bombshell accusations that President Donald Trump pressured him to end his investigation into a top Trump aide's ties to Russia, a source close to the issue said Wednesday.

Final details are still being worked out and no official date for his testimony has been set. Comey is expected to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is investigating possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russia during last year's presidential election.

Comey has spoken privately with Special Counsel Robert Mueller III to work out the parameters for his testimony to ensure there are no legal entanglements as a result of his public account, a source said. Comey will likely sit down with Mueller, a longtime colleague at the Justice Department, for a formal interview only after his public testimony.

So Comey lied in his previous testimony. I guess he should get charged with perjury.

Go ahead, you got the stones and you're a Lawyer, I say go for it.

BTW, my money on the FBI.

It makes no difference. Jesus H. Christ himself could testify against The Donald and the Trumpkins would call Jesus a disgruntled liar.

A waste of time and money if you ask me.

and they would give him a few more hours on that cross as punishment.

Huh? We have recorded testimony of him saying no one tampered with or asked him to stop the investigation.

This is what is going to happen during this testimony.

Senate: "Mr. Comey, did President Trump ever intimidate you to stop the Russian investigation?"

Comey: "No, our discussion never reached that point and I never felt threatened."

Senate: "Thank you Mr. Comey you can go home now."

It's not them we care about, but ensuring he's a lame duck who can't accomplish any of his insane goals that would set the country back even more

There aren't enough of the deplorables, thank god, to carry his agenda thru a scandal like this

Huh? We have recorded testimony of him saying no one tampered with or asked him to stop the investigation.
No, we have testimony of him saying no one at the Department of Justice tampered or asked him to stop an investigation. The question never included anything about the President.

I hope this was merely an honest mistake on your part and not an intentional attempt to disregard the truth for partisan reasons.

Why didn't Comey report this to the DOJ ?? He'll be charged with a felony if he truly beleived Trump was trying to shut down the investigation.

In other words, you are for gridlock and being the party of no. The right spent many years trying to ensure Obama was a lame duck and now you want the same for Trump. In other words, the country should just get used to nothing getting done, no matter who is president.

Comey made it quite clear that no one asked him to stop the investigation. He had his opportunity to say otherwise and he didn't take it. Are you saying that Comey was more worried about his job than having a high moral standard for the office he held? Comey was actually let go by Trump immediately after it became known that the FBI wanted to clarify inaccurate testimony Comey gave to Congress. If Trump had given "inaccurate" testimony he would have been accused of being a liar and the left would be calling for his head. But, somehow, the left doesn't feel that same way about Comey.

Comey made it quite clear that no one asked him to stop the investigation.
No, he made it quite clear no one at the DOJ asked him to stop. The DOJ, and nothing else, as that was the question he was asked.

Attempting to garner anything else from that exchange can only lead to one being a liar.

Difference is his ideas are in fact terrible for the country

He expanded on the question asked, including an additional question. But, are you saying that Comey broke the law by not reporting what Trump supposedly asked him to do? I mean Comey claimed it happened in Feb.

To a liberal they are terrible for the country. Trump was elected because Americans were getting sick of liberal ideas going too far.

It's interesting how CNN is playing to their partners, and their audience.

Comey is going to be CONFIRMING Trump pressured him?

Why it would seem CNN has already heard Comey's testimony.

I think I'm going to bookmark this article and see what actually happens with Comey.

Just to point out, although the testimony is going to be public, we don't know what he's going to say.

Why didn't Comey report this to the DOJ ?? He'll be charged with a felony if he truly beleived Trump was trying to shut down the investigation.

Why don't we find out what his testimony is first?? He felt uncomfortable enough to write a memo (standard procedure btw).

Uncomfortable enough to scribble out a few words on a note pad about the attempt at obstruction he just witnessed, but not enough to comply with the law and avoid a felony charge.

Yea, that makes sense

He expanded on the question asked, including an additional question.
He was never asked about the President.
But, are you saying that Comey broke the law by not reporting what Trump supposedly asked him to do?
He reported it to other members of the FBI. It was reported.

It's amazing how the partisans will grasp at any lie to justify what they want to believe.
