Very good history based podcast below. Along with a guest, Sam discusses the history of problems tied to globalization, and it drives home the folly of blaming those problems on a group of people, which, of course, is the wrong way to solve complex problems. And, speaking of scapegoating others to make ourselves feel better about complex problems, the podcast also discusses Trump...imagine that?

Basically, Sam and his guest point out that we have been heading toward Trumpkism for a long time now. They spend significant time analyzing the signs of the emergence of Trumpism and warns that we should not allow American exceptionalism blind us to the realities. Probably a bit too little, a bit too late, but...worth a listen.

Note: the podcast is probably not meant for the...uh, those who are unwilling to listen and learn.

I'm a huge fan if Harris, but I find his political opinions somewhat harder to handle than I do his philosophical approach to religion, namely because it's a realm of opinion, but he lends it the same weight and credulity as his fully reasoned arguments

I don't know if I would say huge fan but ive warmed up to the guy quite a bit. A lot of atheists that do a lot of interviews and stuff are often quite rabid which can turn me off. Although Hitchens was pretty rabid and I liked him. I guess its Dawkins that soured things mostly.

That's because The Hitch was "rabid" in a loveable Lewis Black kind of way. Dawkins comes off as though he thinks he's better than everyone else.

I like Harris because even when I disagree with him he articulates his position well.

He's a pretty smart fella. Even when I don't agree with one of his arguments, I do find myself trying to learn from his well-reasoned opinions.

Hitch is the college educated brother in law who says the darnedest things after his third Scotch on the rocks. Dawkins is him fifteen years later, after completing about 3 of his 12 steps.

I think Dawkins 'does' think he is better than everyone else.
