Well Vets, we now know how Trump and the GOP are going to treat you!

VA defends plan to cut thousands from elderly vets' benefits
This group has voted overwhelmingly for Trump and the GOP and now they get the payback. That is because many of the elderly Vets will have their Vet pay cutback.

Good.

Included in President Donald Trump’s $186.5 billion VA budget for fiscal 2018 — a nearly 6 percent boost in discretionary spending from this year — are plans to dramatically cut the department's Individual Unemployability program.
...
Administration officials want to stop those payouts once veterans are eligible for Social Security retirement benefits, arguing those individuals should no longer qualify for unemployment benefits. Veterans who cannot collect Social Security would be exempt.

Far as I'm concerned, there was no choice last November but to vote against both major party candidates and hope for a miracle. We have Trump as president now because the Democrats nominate the only person, the only Democrat that could possibly lose to Trump.

Clinton wouldn't have been any better.

I bet you have never been in the military.

So you believe that Clinton would be a worse president than Trump has been. Either you haven't been watching any news channel but Fox if you haven't seen the fool that we have as president. You must be one of those who thinks that the worst GOP candidate, and i mean the worst, is always better then a Dem.

Maybe next time don't run Hillary Clinton...

Barack Obama should not pick Hillary Clinton as his vice-presidential nominee, former president Jimmy Carter has told the Guardian.

"I think it would be the worst mistake that could be made," said Carter.
There were polls after polls after polls saying that there are some people who would never vote for Hillary Clinton under any circumstance. Then the DNC literally cheats against a well-liked Civil rights activist to ensure she was anointed the Dem presidential candidate during the primaries, then you have nobody else to blame but yourselves. Lot's of people, even in the DNC knew she was a terrible candidate because she turned everything to **** when she was in charge of it. In fact her only success in life was allowing a child molester to get away with a crime. She's actually failed at everything else she's done in her life.

I agree with the cuts.

1. Why should the VA be paying unemployment benefits?

2. Why should Vets who collect SS also get VA unemployment benefits?

Because those vets did something you didn't and Signed up to protect this country. You only show you piss on vets like the con you are.

Well, there you go...shoving your foot deep into your mouth.

I enter the U.S. Army at age 17. Served two tours in Vietnam...one of which I volunteered for...left the military...later, joined the U.S. Army again...served in the Gulf War in addition to various other deployments and assignments. Retired from the U.S. Army.

Dude...I've been a vet for all but 17 years of my life...and before that, I was an Air Force Brat. So...don't tell ME about protecting this country.

Now...I posted my position and I said why I hold that position. If you can only dispute my position by insulting my life with your baseless assumption, then you bring nothing to this discussion.

Ah yes I remember thread after thread from Cons blaming Obama for the poor treatment of the vets. But now that there's an (R) in the WH, right on cue. The Trumpsters will now turn on the Vets.

But I don't feel much sympathy for anyone who votes GOP anymore. Until the Vets, the Middle Class, whoever start to vote for their OWN interest, the GOP will continue to crap on them.

Bet his reply to you will be #*crickets*

It's always been my understanding that social security was based on ones income anyways. If you receive X money then you'll get less in SS benefits than if you didn't receive X in money. In fact I know people that despite being of retiring age has not retired yet so that they can get more in SS when they finally do retire.

Now personally, I think that vets that saw combat should be receiving far more money than they do so I don't care that they receive both types of income. But I can understand the reasoning behind this move as it is a logical one.

It's not okay for Democrats to screw vets but it's okay for Republicans to screw vets that's the way the right wing works
