In a snake pit, the other snakes may be able to sort out the differences.

Those of us who only observe the snake pit and the residents who live there see only snakes.

Regarding societally strange behavior, though, we are more often told that a Democrat example is open minded and more often told that a Republican example is hypocritical.

If you are talking about something like infidelity or soliciting prostitutes, yes, Republicans have the reputation of being hypocrites. Not because Democrats don't engage in those activities, they do, but because Republicans are, or at least used to be, the so called "family values" party.

Pedophilia, however, is different. Both parties condemn that in the harshest possible terms.

I googled this.

It's hard to find reporting on this in what is referred to as the Main Stream Media.

Can you find something in the Big 3 networks or the NYT?

Both "parties" may condemn this, but the reporting by the Liberal outlets seems to have missed this.
