We should publicly shame Ariana Grande for her lack of response

That does nothing, all of these memorials, benefit concerts, vigils and flowers don't do anything. They probably serve as beat off material for radicals.
I'm coming across as unempathetic.. Because we should be. There's no reason to be empathetic unless you're gonna be outraged. And we should be outraged at the UK's immigration policy.
Being outraged does 100x more than any worthless thoughts, prayers and condolences. We don't need empathy, it's not helping anyone

What people need to do is put pressure on the UK government... Maybe I was wrong for bringing up Ariana Grande when she's one part of the media.
Rather the whole media needs to be pressured, not just her.

You're coming across as a titanic asshole.

You can't defeat hate with hate. It only creates more hate. Want evidence? Look in a mirror. Look at what these radicalized, hateful people have done to you. You're ranting on the internet at a 23 year old girl who was the victim of a crime, because she's not mad enough for your personal satisfaction.

You defeat hate with legislation and action.
You think love can defeat hate? Hate has a better chance of beating hate.

Besides, hate and love are the same thing. They're two sides of the same ying yang. One cannot exist without the other

Did I even mention hate? All I said is that change comes from action, not praying or giving condolences to people or running another benefit concert to bomb. Change comes from people getting fed up and demanding it

Hate and love aren't the same thing, that's some fortune-cookie bull****. In the history of humanity, hate has never defeated hate.

I admit, maybe I wrong for going after her, when the issue was with the entire media and the agenda they're pushing.

And they are the same thing. You can't hate without love. Hitler's hatred for the jews came from his love of his ideology. The reason we hate it when it's too hot or cold is becuase we love even temperatures. If we love something, we hate something else by default. If you love freedom, odds are you hate slavery.

Yea we did defeat hate with hate, we hated the Nazi's so we killed. We hated Nazi's cause they hated everybody.
We damn sure didn't defeat the Japanese using the power of love

Gimmie a conflict where love defeated hate? Besides, what war is so simple that you can call it "love vs. hate". We're not at war with the general concept of hate, we're at war with a specific ideology

An ideology that you can't make go away with bombs. You can't end terrorism by blowing things up. Tearing apart a country just creates an environment that makes it easier to radicalize people. And you know what? So does a country full of people shouting at the top of their lungs that Islam is the enemy. A lot of our domestic terrorists are born here. They grow up in a land full of freedom and opportunity, but it's also full of people who hate them and keep telling the world they want to kick them out. How easy is it to radicalize that kid? Now go back overseas to some of these awful places they grow up in, it's a thousand times worse. Imagine growing up in a world where sometimes the street just explodes and your friends and family die. Imagine Canadians bombed your street, but don't worry, they were aiming at drug dealers. You going to greet them as liberators?

A decent school and a clean water supply do a better job than a battalion of tanks here.

Of course, someone like yourself will somehow interpret this as "never kill terrorists even when they're shooting at you." Radicals usually do see the world in black and white like that.

She's a young woman who just was at the heart of a tragedy where multiple people died...died for nothing more than a desire to come and watch her sing live. Being upset and wanting to boycott because she isn't being used as a political tool to a degree you like is asinine

It's a shame the OP attacked Ariana personally to push Islamophobia.

On the bright side, it turns out Ariana is good person.

American singer Ariana Grande made a surprise visit with fans injured in last month's terror attack at her concert in Manchester.

The pop star surprised youngsters Friday night at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital ahead of a benefit concert Sunday for victims of the attack...

Thorpe's eight-year-old daughter, Lily, suffered a shrapnel wound in her back and is currently recovering from surgery.

"Lily's face lit up and Ariana was amazing with her," Thorpe said. "She knelt by her and sat on her bed with her and told her 'I'm so proud of you, you are so strong and doing really well'."

This **** should be ashamed of herself. She's a pathetic coward who refuses to blame radical islam for the death of her fans.

She is spitting on her fans graves every day she sits around feeling sorry for herself. Obvioulsy being PC is more imporant than her fans that died.
She loves the media support more than her fans.

People should boycott her ****ty music until they does so.

"Little girls are being killed thanks to a murderous ideology. Why won't Ariana Grande condemn it? It's a supreme act of cowardice. She has a unique chance: this is the first opportunity to strike a blow against Islamic terror *in culture*. She could be a cultural icon for generations. She owes it to her dead fans. So why won't she act?"

I think this is a good oppurtunity to put some well deserved pressure on her.

I would figure you feel pretty embarrassed by now

I would figure you feel pretty embarrassed by now

Nah, me and Milo still have a good point.

And that is that what we need is to hate Islam, not show love or compassion... In the end, Ariana Grande would accomplish more by rallying people up in an anti-Islamic rage towards the government than by visiting fans in the hospital or by doing benefit shows.

I don't think what we need is love and kindness and empathy. I think what we need is hate. We've been trying love for a while... Give hate a chance. I think she and everyone else is reacting wrong. We're showing weakness.
Strength is shown through zero tolerance. I still believe all this love and acceptance people are giving is counter-productive

Besides, I don't think she's that great of a person, and not because of how she reacted...
I don't trust or believe ANY of these celebrities are good people at all... I think they're all just in it for money, fame and a position in the social heirarchy.
I think all them famous people are part of the mainstream media agenda.

It's a shame the OP attacked Ariana personally to push Islamophobia.

I did do that... Because I believe "Islamaphobia" is what our enemies will understand. They can't understand or comprehend kindness. We fight animals like animals. We're not at war with any people.
And yea, I'm Islamophobic, as I am with most religions and ideologies I think are bad.
I don't think religion deserves to be treated with tolerance as we would different races or genders

On the bright side, it turns out Ariana is good person.

Do you think that?
I mean, I don't believe that's true of 95% people of famous people.

If she is a good person, then she's part of the tiny rare 5% of famous musicians and celebrities who are good people. And 5% is being generous. I think at least 99% of them are horrible people behind closed doors.
How do you think they get where they are?

I judge people by their actions, not their group.

Well, I didn't judge muslims. I judged Islam. Just like how not all christians are bad. But Christinity itself is bad

And I guess I am guilty of judging celebrities... But I'm not sure... I think so many of them are horrible people that it's just safe to judge them that way.

I disagree. While it would be nice if she made some generic "my heart goes out to the fans": Grande herself is barely an adult and this type of thing is beyond what she should be expected to handle.

I also disagree.

I think Ariana is probably doing the best she can under the circumstances. She is probably a pretty non political, non ideological person and doesn't want to make what is a terrible tragedy even worse by using the victims to push an ideological/political agenda. I won't judge her on this.

I do know she is doing some positive things in the wake of it.

U.S. pop singer Ariana Grande has paid a surprise visit to young fans who were injured in a suicide attack on a concert she gave in Manchester last month, posing with them for selfies and signing t-shirts.

Grande returned to Britain on Friday to lead an all-star benefit concert on Sunday and quickly headed for a hospital in the northern English city where many of the injured are being treated. . .

Not to pick on you, but sometimes it truly is from exceptional hard work and a nurtured talent.

Even for religious people at times, whateverdude.

Go ahead. She has no responsibility whatsoever for what happened to her audience.
