It's hard to say how many people were killed by the suicide bomber in Manchester, they say, because so many victims are in little pieces.

Many parents still don't know whether or not their children were killed in the blast.

The response of our left leaning media was the same as it always is, though. They deny it's radical Muslim terrorism, they ignore it, then they try everything they can think of to protect and shield Muslims from the righteous anger and rage that they imagine will descend on the Muslims. It's their first response, to protect Muslims from the evil people of the West. But the rage never seems to materialize. Instead it's all hash tags and candle light vigils.

Why does the left in the West and radical Islam have this unholy alliance that they have? Both, of course, want to see Western civilization destroyed. It's after the destruction that they differ. The Left wants a socialist utopia and the radical Muslims want a global caliphate. Both imagine that they are the ones who will end up on top of things in the end, once the pillars of the West have fallen.

Also, left wingers base their world view on the idea that fairness and justice means equality of outcomes. So if Muslims in general are third world, ignorant, and poor then someone has been unjust to them. They have been treated unfairly, so left wingers want to be on their side and will be against anyone who is prosperous and successful, because they think that the only way anyone could be so much more prosperous than others is by cheating them somehow.
 
There has been a disturbing rise in the number of alliances liberals have been making with terrorists.

Liberals in Massachussets worked closely with social services to ensure the Tsarnaev family got nearly every conceivable government welfare program.

The Obama administration worked hard to destroy any information Russia sent to the U.S. telling anyone who would listen that the Tsarnaev's were a family of terrorist sympathizers.

A terrorist was leading the "womens day" march organization.

Liberals and antifa have also worked together to pursue their goals of destruction.

If there is a large terrorist attack in this nation, rest assured liberals will be complicit and possibly directly involved.

Funny, I am old enough to remember when people claimed leftists were in a sinister alliance with Jewish Zionists. Then it was blacks (and, of course, Jews) in the civil rights movement allied with Russian communists. A century earlier there were the subversive Catholics allied with Rome. Not much has changed

My response to the bombing was grief, sympathy and helpless frustration. There was some brief concern and fear when a friend in the area wasn’t contactable by her family but thankfully that was resolved. At no point did I think “How can I spin this in to a petty political screed?” though.

You obviously struck a nerve. I noticed the left hasn't denied any of the things you pointed out, but are quick with calling you names. When the leftist propaganda machine was running around blaming Christians, whitey, "militia groups," etc for the Boston Bombing, the left was looking at their shoes. Now they are foaming at the mouth because you accurately described what is happening.

I think the leftists among us readily admit there are terrorists committing the unconscionable acts as happened in Manchester last night. What they don't want to admit is almost all of such unconscionable acts are committed by Islamic extremists. ISIS has in fact taken credit for the Manchester bombing according to the MSM such as ABC.

President Trump and others are absolutely right that if we don't identify the enemy for who and what it is, there is no reasonable way to defend ourselves against it.

If some leftist puts out a leftist policy that is pure idiocy, that does not tar all leftists. It does tar those who fund, promote, and/or agree with that idiot.

That the huge lion's share of terrorist acts in the world today are committed by Muslims does not tar all Muslims. It does tar those who commit the acts and those who fund, defend, protect, and/or agree with/approve of them. And when not identifying or naming them becomes the policy, that translates to a lot of us as a leftist policy that is pure idiocy.

I believe many collectivists DO loathe Western culture, just as extreme Islamists do, and that that loathing gives them common cause. Of course these collectivists like to deny that, even while they repeatedly run down their own cultures and make excuses for the misdeeds of Islamists.

The appropriate response in this case, of course, is to light candles and leave flowers, join hands in groups and sing songs, admit more aliens to the country, plead for greater understanding of foreign cultures and customs, and, above all, take no harsh actions which might offend any identifiable group of people the criminals might belong to. After all, how is a culture to be destroyed unless the people who want to destroy it are appeased and abetted?

Funny how views differ. Most of the people I have ever seen acting as you describe have--ironically--identified themselves as "liberal" or "progressive." Apparently these people were all too aware of their backwardness, and to hide it they often put on an air of worldliness and intellectual superiority.
