Trump and the Republican Politicos

I'm Amazed at what Conservatives are willing to Forgive and Forget ... but not Forgive to Forget anything when a Democrat is involved.

Odd?

I can safely say that this is True for members of the Republican party and independents.

JEB! was rejected and Hillary was rejected in the general. Democrats love American aristocrisy which is why Hillary was anointed to the top spot of the Dem ticket.

Bush and Hillary are aristocracy but Trump isn't? How did he get you to buy that bridge???

Your argument is that Hillary is wealthier than President Trump?

She's American aristocrisy. Every aspect of her life is unearned and handed to her. She rode her husband's coattails the entire way even though she was a spectacular failure in everything.

I think Establishment Republicans, and Democrats, lost sight long ago about who employs them.

It is not surprising an alt-left operation like Vox would paint this picture of Republicans in D.C. full of trepidation, but hope, who now join the left in despair.

Typical tactic that nobody should fall for. It's one of those standard "even X has now come to believe" bits of propaganda.

I think the Est. Elites in D.C. are very concerned the people are trying to take back some control, and they are trying to figure out how to keep the people from doing that.

Failure to do so is likely going to be their peril, as what was bad about D.C. before, has become worse in response to voters putting Trump in the White House.

oh hell no. they are bought and paid for. the lobbyists own them

Yep.

There's a lot of room between ANTIFA and Bluedog ... ;)

I throw antifa in the same league as Cliven Bundy and clan. Loons. You can't paint 50% of the population with either brush. They are a tiny, annoying minority that the majority on both sides should be vocally against.

You didn't answer my question.

Trump was born with a silver spoon in his mouth compared to how Hillary Rodham was born.

Trump actually made a very interesting comment on his upbringing when the Economist was interviewing him and I think it says a lot about how he managed to get the Rust Belt on side;

“You know my father was a builder in Brooklyn and Queens, predominately. And I worked with subcontractors…somehow even though I live on Fifth Avenue and all of these things, I very much relate to those people.”

I think that's the big difference. Trump (and for that matter, Bill, Biden and Sanders) knew how communicate with these voters in a way that Clinton did not. That, plus the clear disdain mainstream Republicans have for him, allows him to get around his billionaire status and play "man of the people".

I think that's the big difference. Trump was able to communicate with these people in a way that Clinton could not and it cost her big time. I think if she had that sort of experience, she would've won.

There is some truth in what you said. Clinton - for all her intellect and experience - is off putting and does not relate to average people. But anybody who fooled themselves into believe Trump cares about their 40K per year existence in a 1100 square foot home is fooling themselves.

Trump reminds me of that scene in KLUTE where Jane Fonda is faking the worlds biggest orgasm only to calmly pause and look at her wristwatch while doing it.

Oh, I agree. But if you were thinking of voting Trump (whether it be out of complete loyalty to the Republican Party or a hidden support for his policies) but needed a reason to justify looking past his multitude of faults and do something which deep down surely people knew and know was clearly wrong, there it was.

Trump actually worked hard his entire adult life. Hillary Clinton had everything handed to her.

Clinton's campaign message was "I HATE YOU". That's pretty off-putting no matter who says it. And you can talk about whether or not Trump cares about people or not, he spoke warmly and connected to people instead of viewing them as stepping stones in an ascent to power.

What is the percentage of willful denial, far right wing political extremism and just plain delusional beliefs that it takes to come to that conclusion?

Missed that message. Can you reprint it for me?

You seem to have missed the fact that 'the Republican establishment' is dictating Trump's direction, he's just fumbling and stumbling constantly. He also brought his own swamp of Kremlin and Russian oligarch stooges with him, which is causing some problems. Goldman Sachs is still very well represented in his admin.

If Trump was a real, competent agent of change away from the Dem/Rep party & lobbyists nonsense that's been around for ever, I would support him. I don't see that at all.

Name one major thing that Trump has done that goes against right wing orthodoxy.

When you throw in the "Kremlin and Russian oligarch stooges" screed, you vaporize your credibility and eliminate any reason to engage.

I would appear anything that President Trump has done would go unrecognized by you.
