What if the investigations don't pan out?

It's just going to keep getting nasty.

I've got to tell you, I'm not so sure that if 2018 doesn't go the Democrats way we'll be sitting here wishing "nasty" was as bad as they decided to get.

GOPs will be lucky to limit their house losses to two dozen seats, giving DEMs a 218--217 lead. The gerrymandering card is the great GOP hope.

Cook Political is now much more bullish on Senate DEMs and not so bullish on GOP Govs .

yeah, Hillary was a shoe in too....especially against Trump.

Let's say we get to May, 2018 and the special prosecutor hasn't come up with anything to impeach Trump? What if the various House and Senate investigations still haven't found an actual crime? What if the DOW is at 23,000, unemployment is at 3.8% and wages are increasing? If that's where we are a year from now, with a midterm election just heating up and no actual albatross to hang around Trump's neck what will the Democrats and Never Trumpers going to do?

I guess I'll continue not supporting Trump or Democrats. Unless for some reason I feel like Democrats or Trump's policies are responsible for those assumed economic effects, which is unlikely.

No need to imagine anything, this is quite possibly the most corrupt White House we've ever seen.

Based on what? Please be specific. Let's have a list verifiable corruption in the Trump White House.

Oh, I expect blood in the streets the summer of '19. They're already showing up with guns and ****. The next thing you know, they'll be wanting to fire off a few rounds into a pro-Conservative/Republican rally.

Hell, we might not have to wait that long, if the Russian Connection doesn't go their way.

I really hope it doesn't come to that. I'll even feel sorry for the Liberals if they decide to start a firefight with the wrong cats.

Will we see John McCain stumping for Democrats? What will the Democrat theme be? Will the Russian Conspiracy stuff still have enough legs to put a few more Democrat seats in the House? If congress and a special prosecutor can't come up with solid dirt on Trump by this time next year should they revert to a platform based on policy or should they just keep flinging poo around the room?
I predict the suicide prevention hotlines will have to hire extra staff.

I am in the camp that the investigation over Russian collusion has already become unreasonable.

And because of the media and their absolute hatred for this president have shown themselves to not exactly be non-bias in their coverage. Too many stories with un-named sources. Each day there is a flood of new ones. I believe it was a Harvard study or some ivy league school that came out a couple of days ago showing those outlets that keep writing and reporting on Trump to be over 90% negative in their coverage.

Is the media making up the sources in order to print anything they want? Or is there a deep state problem putting this unfounded stuff out into the media? I don't know but it appears it is designed to bring down this president.

I've never seen anything like it.

Personally I think appointing Mueller was a good choice. Because of Rosenstein laying out his reasons why Comey had to go because of his handling of Clinton, this opens the door for the special prosecutor to revisit all of that, something I do not think the left is real thrilled about. Also, on May 8th Comey under oath told Congress to date no one had tried to thwart the FBI investigation. That was 11 days ago. Yet leaks coming out the last few days claim otherwise. So was Comey lying ?

Before it is all said and done, I believe those who were wanting a special prosecutor, are going to be sorry......very sorry.

Not to be nitpicky, but people keep repeating the term "special prosecutor". This is wholly inaccurate, the correct term is "special counsel". There is a huge difference. ;)

you aren't being nitpicky, you are right. Thanks.

With no evidence in place to cause one to believe your hypothetical won't play out, I think it's important to realize an important fact.

The United States holds trillions of dollars the Globalists are trying to get their hands on.

With that amount of money to motivate them, they will never give up.

yeah, Hillary was a shoe in too....especially against Trump.

Hillary isn't at the top of the ticket anymore. trump, McConnell and Ryan are.

The latest Monmouth poll cuts a wide swath through trump voters in swing counties, as well as his strong counties .

Thank you. The rest of your post was spot on, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Found this at Real Clear Politics. I've been a fan of Victor Davis Hanson for years.

My guess is that we will see a lot more of the following:

Okay, I will bite: There could be absolutely nothing that comes from the investigation, but Trump certainly isn't helping himself out.

Anybody, and I mean anybody with an ounce of common sense, would have NOT invited Russian diplomats into the Oval Office for a meeting - giving the ongoing issue with Russian interference in our elections. The fact that Trump invited the two Russians at Putin's request, just makes matters worse.

I will say this again: TRUMP is TRUMP's own worst enemy.

You do understand that the white house hosted the Russian diplomats as part of a reciprocal agreement because they hosted our diplomats, mainly Rex Tillerson. Hey I know, maybe Trump should stop all diplomacy with Russia to give legitimacy to the lunatic lefts made up premise of collusion.

Curious, these same diplomats were hosted in the white house 22 times under Obama. And we can’t forget that hot mic moment with Obama and the Russians. Soon after his election he totally scrapped the planned missile defense shield as a (gift) to the Russians.

We also can’t forget the famous reset with the button for photo ops. This time instead of scraping a missile shield system they gave up Uranium mining rights. What’s absolutely stunning to me is all the cash that flowed into the Clinton foundation from said mining interests during that time.

This video will make of this very clear:

See! It is really quite simple!

You mean like HRC and all the investigations? No, I don't want Clinton in the WH. I do want Trump out of it.

It's not about a "stand down" order. It's about sending Susan Rice out to lie about some YouTube video when it was known all along that wasn't the case. It's about lying for the sole purpose of protecting Obama's campaign.

No luther, that was just the back up lie that some conservatives "retreated" to when they could no longer deny the vile and disgusting stand down lie was a lie. You believed the vile and disgusting stand down lie long after it was proven to be a lie. And luther, I don't care about the conservative lies you obediently believe. I asked you how do you not feel foolish ignoring the results of multiple investigations as you whine we should ignore an investigation that hasn't finished yet?

If your delusional fantasy somehow became reality I will have surely died by asphyxiation, stunned into disbelief and unable to breathe. I read the OP to my wife and have requested she post news of my death on DP and specifically mention Lutherf's prediction came true.

We don't agree often, but I think you are spot on with this post. Trump is a self derailing train. He does more damage to himself than an army of liberals could ever hope to do. McConnell put it best with the understatement of the year : 'We could do with a lot less drama from the White House.' Amen.

Of course it hasn't occured to them. They can't comprehend that their agenda has been rejected. Therefore, there has to be another reason.

The denial that leftist agenda has been rejected runs even deeper than the denial that Hillary lost the election.
Looks like the leftists' arrogance of their always being correct, always having the best ideas, their arrogant and unfounded moral superiority has finally caught up with them. This fall of theirs is really going to hurt them, and the best part of it all is that, ironically, it is 100% self-inflicted.

No need to imagine anything, this is quite possibly the most corrupt White House we've ever seen.

Without a single instance of corruption in evidence. Time for tin hats.

Can you imagine the freakout if some Democrats, even Obama admin people get fingered?

Oh lord! If you thought that the exploding heads was bad between the election and now was bad, should that happen, it'll be multiplied by times 100 or times 1,000.

The investigation is about the Trump campaign and its collusion with Russians.

Sideshows will not be tolerated by Mueller.
