How have they not plugged the leaks yet?

I will admit that I like the leaks. I do take them with a grain of salt initially until I see how the Administration reacts to them.

But how have they not found the leakers? I mean, there were only a handful of people in that meeting with the Russians and the content of that meeting was leaked. You would think a simple analyses of who was around when leaked info was discussed would, through simple process of elimination, reveal the leakers.

Didn't any of these people play Clue when they were younger? ;)

Some think the common denominator is DJT? Colonel Mustard, in the study, with the candlestick!

Simple.

1) Numerous people in the administration are incompetent. Starting from the top.

2) Numerous people in the administration use leaks as a weapon against their White House rivals.

3) This was not hermetically sealed. After it happened, someone notified the NSA and CIA what Trump had done. They may have also seen a transcript or heard a recording.

4) If it was someone in the intelligence community, presumably they are smart enough to avoid Spicey's Smartphone Search.

5) Even in very competent administrations, people leak. It's a way to get out info, to spin, to control the narrative, to get at an enemy, etc

That could be the one thing that might actually make the next four years worse: Trump actually has multiple personalities, but they're all assholes so we cannot tell who is speaking at a given moment, and they leak on each other.

(Of course, the more cynical conclusion would be more plausible.....he's leaking things himself, so as to create an atmosphere where he has support going after "leakers," and then use that support to purge remaining political opponents in places of authority).

The more interesting question to me is, why the constant anonymity? If they are greatly upset at the harm going on behind the scenes, why do they not come forward, and why do they not resign in protest?

My understanding is that after the meeting with the Russians, notifications were provided to intelligence agencies like the CIA about what was discussed, with the intent the intelligence agencies brace themselves from potential blowback from allies or anyone. If so, the leaker could be any number of people.

Perhaps they actually like their job and don't like our President divulging information from our allies to those who are not our allies?

They are probably scared about what might happen to them. I think it's pretty obvious the administration would smash them.

By doing what?

I think that more and more people in and around the WH are becoming both alarmed and disgusted by Trump's arrogant and bizarre behavior. It is certainly clear that the intelligence community has virtually no respect for him and find his fascination for Russia disturbing.

More than a handful knew about the meeting. Someone lied who didn't even attend.

In this case the 'leak' may have been the Israelis. They may have found out what Trump said by:

1) the Israelis have a source in American Intel and/or the WH.

2) they may have a source in the Russian Intel and/or Russian embassy/press.

3) the Russians may have acted on the Info and the Israelis then put 2 and 2 together and realized the Info came from Trump.

Anyone 1 of the 3 happened of course the Israelis would be super Pissed off, so they leaked it to make Trump look like a fool, which he is so it doesn't take much.

Don't know. Perhaps they think can do more from the inside. Perhaps they are staying just so they can leak information. Perhaps they need the money.

Trump is the leak. How do you plug the President's mouth and twitter fingers?
