How would Trump have fired Comey last July when he wasn't president?
...to fire Comey?
No one was singing his praises.
...many think Trump's timing was somehow suspicious.
So my question is, "If not now? Then when?
...to fire Comey?
Not much question that the Dems thought he should go. HC herself thought his bungling re emails two days before the election may have cost her the presidency. No one was singing his praises.
Dems don't support the firing now...many think Teump's timing was somehow suspicious.

Morning Maggie,
have you seen this this morning? It's gone viral.
And that is possibly our biggest societal political problem now, I'm beginning to think, the rabid blind obedience/opposition.
Good morning, Vesper. :2wave:
When watching the video you posted, my first thought was "Hillary is indeed making plans to run for POTUS in 2020!" Now that Comey has been effectively blamed for her loss in 2016, true or not, the world is suddenly her oyster again. Ain't propaganda great?
Hi Pol!
Actually I have a different take. The democrats were 'using Comey as part of the reason Hillary lost the election and many called for his removal after the election. She herself blamed him. Today they cry crocodile tears that Trump fired him. They can't have it both ways. By complaining about Comey's firing they have undermined part of Clinton's excuse for losing. In essence they have thrown her under the bus.

January. After the Russia investigation concludes. After the appointment of an independent type investigator taking over the Russia investigation.
Doing it in the middle of an investigation in which Trump and many of his closest people are major figures is just a bad idea.
I especially like your thoughts re "after an independent type investigator has been appointed." In fact, you brilliantly addressed my thoughts on this person. Calling this person an "independent prosecutor" belies the position.
I am not sure I follow what you are saying. Did you interpret my comments to mean I thought Comey was an independent investigator(not, not prosecutor, I believe there is a difference)? If so, you misunderstand, and I make no such claim(nor do I claim the opposite, that he is not independent, I don't have enough information to make a judgement either way). Or am I the one misunderstanding what you are saying?
