Deputy AG threatens to quit

Unrest undoubtedly does exist in DOJ. If it extends to the Deputy AG, who really knows? The extent of the unrest is unknown as well.

What is known is that Trump is angry, angry over the fact that the Russian scandal continues and grows. He apparently is angered he can't make it go away. The firing of Comey is not going to make it go away.

Human nature being what it is, the "resistance" in DOJ and the FBI will grow.

Trump is taking strange steps for someone angry about the scandal. He keeps doing things that just increase the scandal. He fires the top guy in charge of the investigation and then while everyone is complaining about that he bans all media from his meeting with the Russians except the Russian state media. He is acting like he thrives on the scandal.

Trump is treating the Presidency like a reality show and is trying to increase its ratings.

Why would he quit over something he wrote and recommended?
That makes no sense. Sounds like a nonsense article to me.

15 minutes of fame?

I think that gives him way too much credit. I've seen nothing to indicate he's that savvy, and all evidence indicates he's NOT that savvy. You could figure out 101 ways to make a media splash, without damaging your own credibility, or risking turning off your own party with the heat. He simply hasn't done things that nuanced. He's bungled so many things that he wanted kept OUT of the media. Remember too that he's furious about all the leaks, which are creating a lot of the media splash. No, he's simply in way over his head.

Remember, Trump didn't really think he was going to with the Presidency. He never really thought through all the what-ifs. If he's dirty, he's known that could be an issue since he was elected, did you see his face at the news of his election? He looked concerned more than anything. I think he's been an emotional basket case about where this is all going, if not because he knows he's going down at some point, because it's completely and totally out of his control and his capability to do anything about. He can't fill his staff positions, and those few he fills are...well, you know the types he's got in place...Flynn, oops, Kelly Conway, Exxon Big Energy #1, it's a wreck.

His big win was his campaign style, 100% emotional, nationalistic B.S., entirely false on fact checking but sure did whip up the rural folks.
Fortunately it seems you can't actually RUN the nation when that's the only trick in your bag. Thankfully. That would be more strange don't you think? That someone like Trump, given everything you know about him and what it takes to really run a good business and survive customer scrutiny and employee trust, etc., could actually run the nation? I think that would be the biggest stretch of the imagination. Too wordy, oops!

Looks like the Deputy AG was going to have no part in taking the blame for the Comey firing. Seems as though Trump will need to find a better "lackey" next time around. Obviously, he was wrong when he thought that he had found a "Jr." Sessions in Rosenstein.

Rod Rosenstein reportedly threatened to resign after James Comey's firing - Business Insider

Wasn't there also a report that Comey was fired right after he requested more money for the investigation? Too bad that story turned out to be a lie. Just like this one.

It turned out to be a lie? Gosh, really? How was that determined?

How are they lies when you have nothing to prove your claim that business insider is lying.

Have you actually read Rosenstein's memo? Why would he threaten to resign over the dismissal of Comey? The report that he did is so vague as to not even mention "unnamed sources", but merely states "reportedly". I'm not buying it.

Why? Because Rosenstein obviously understands the legal quagmire Trump has created here. He followed orders to invent reasons to fire Comey, but he's refusing to be thrown under the bus for the execution of that decision.

Please stop making **** up. Rosenstein is a well respected non partisan who has worked under Republican and Democrat administrations.

Rosenstein sold his soul to the devil. He now regrets that fact.

Was that when Rosenstein worked for Bubba, or W?

For Trump. You seem to be under the impression that I'm casting aspersions on Rosenstein, but I'm not. I'm merely pointing out the fact that Trump doesn't have the stones to take full responsibility for his actions and Rosenstein is refusing to be his whipping boy.

Did you read the Rosenstein memo? You most certainly are casting aspersions. Albeit from "facts" made up in your own head.

Gosh. The acting director said there was no need for additional funds in todays testimony.

The acting FBI director just refuted it.

McCabe says FBI call not to prosecute Clinton angered some agents, defends Comey | Fox News

McCabe also denied reports that Comey had requested more resources for the Russia probe in the days leading up to his termination, with McCabe saying he believes the probe to be “adequately resourced” and adding that normally the FBI will not request resources for a single investigation.

Someone may want to have a word with Dick Durbin...

Huh. From what I heard him say he was 'unaware' of any such request.

He also said they don't call the DOJ for money/personnel...they ask Congress for additional funding if necessary.

Like I said... "someone needs to have a word with Dick Durbin".

Dick Durbin is one of the sources cited in ABC's report that Comey had requested additional funds along with "someone with knowledge of the investigation". McCabe would have had to been aware of those requests and today "denied the reports" that such requests were made. This would put Dick Durbin at direct odds with the acting director. One of them is lying. Let's find which one it is.

Neither does the hyperventilation from the Left.

Considering how the Right was cheering over Clinton and her investigations, I see it as Karma. If this was Obama taking flak over firing the FBI top dog, many on the right would be baying for his blood, as they so often did. Its politics, get over it.

No doubt but, it's not, is it?

I see it as what the losing, minor party said they would do....fight Trump every step of the way.

Much like the GOP did to Obama the last 6 years.

These laughable Trump supporters are as "thin skinned" as their hero is. You cant say anything negative about their new "savior" without getting a litany of BS.

Well this will only escalate the comparisons to nixon
