Looks like the personalities of Trump and McMasters may be clashing. This will be interesting to watch.

Relevant linkwould always be nice.
https://www.bloomberg.com/view/arti...gton-loves-general-mcmaster-but-trump-doesn-tMcMaster's allies and adversaries inside the White House tell me that Trump is disillusioned with him. This professional military officer has failed to read the president -- by not giving him a chance to ask questions during briefings, at times even lecturing Trump.

If I were President, and this were true? I'd be pretty pissed at one of my advisor's too.
Their job is to advise; not talk-over, or overrule. They work for him, not vice-versa.
Still, I would prefer the internal divisions would shake themselves out as soon as possible, as it simply make things look more disorganized and divisive and feeds into the negative narratives.
IMO this is more evidence that Mr. Trump never expected to be elected and had not really planned on what to do as far as long term governance and political cooperation during the campaign period.
Almost like he is still playing a role on "The Apprentice."

Citing anonymous sources, Bloomberg reported....
And there we have it.
For decades we heard, mostly from Republicans, that we need a businessman to be Prez so he could run the country like a business.
We are finding out with Trump that is a terrible idea. Even Trump has admitted being POTUS job is MUCH harder than being just a businessman. In business Trump probably surrounded himself with good people, that were with him for YEARS, and if needed he could bully them. In politics these 'advisers' come and go, Trump knows nothing about them, and when they screw up he can't 'bully' them.
So far in politics Trump has surrounded himself with morons, and Trump doesn't have a clue how to straighten out the mess around him.
But in washington there are very few BuroRats who can walk and chew gum at the same time and they are entrenched and have tenure.
NS advisors are a dime a dozen in washington

Hmmm.. How about that? So when you said this in post #8 were you throwing BS in that post? Or this 1?
Or both?
Just proves you guys will defend Trump and his incompetence no matter what he does.
It looks more like Trump sees the need for presentation of a single stance on US foreign policy matters outside of the White House. Presentation of different views and policy options is all well and good inside closed staff meetings but it is not good when your selected "advisors" are telling foreign officials of plans that conflict with those publicly stated by the POTUS.

A successful businessman can hire good people to work for him

It will take time to whip this bankrupt company into shape
The government is not a company nor should it be run like one. Trump has zero political skills and is unfit for the job.
Companies are efficient or they go out of business.
Government otoh is very inefficient and just keeps on going
We need better government that is more like a business than a bad dream
Efficiency isn't what keeps companies in business, profitability is. The government is not a business and does not have the profit motive. It is there to protect our rights and provide for the general welfare. No for-profit company on earth could succeed at that job. Politics is about governing and organizing society in an attempt to provide the best social framework for citizens to live their lives as productively and peacefully as possible. Efficiency is not a primary goal of government nor should it be.
Profitability is a function of efficency
If you work stupid its very difficult to make a profit
Unless you work for government where being stupid is acceptable and there is no bottom line to be judged by
You are wrong about profitability. It is not a function of efficiency. It is a function of sales being greater than expenses. Period. if you can charge more for your product than it costs to make you can make a profit. Even if you have otherwise stupid management.
Politics is about policies. Policies are subjective. Just because you like or don't like a policy does not make it smart or stupid. You make the same mistake Obama made. He thought he was bringing smart ideas to the job. It was really just ideas that he liked. Those who didn't like his ideas called them stupid.
I got it
If your company has 50 people in production but they spend most of the day watching internet porn instead of working then just double or tripple the price you charge for the widgets to turn out and make your profit that way
Why didn't I think of that?
If that's what the market will bear, yes. It really is that simple.
Do you think monopolies have to be run efficiently?
Thats what I am telling you.
Businesses in the free market do not often enjoy monopoly status but government does.
