The Republican party by and large screws the poor, packages it as "Freedom" and then turns around and tries to claim the Christian Moral High ground.

There is a simple choice at the heart of this: Use our immense national resources to care for the sick and weak or cut them all loose. I know how I vote.

Here is the problem: These 'immense national resources' you want to get your paws on are individually held. Meaning, they don't belong to you or they aren't yours to take and spread around. If you wish to do good things with wealth, use your own. You have no right to mine or anyone elses.

Um logically how could it not be worse than the 24 million uninsured that the last CBO found? It's literally the same bill except even more kicked off medicaid and insurers can charge more for preexisting

It doesn't matter anyway because they've lost all credibility. The dem attack ads will be vicious whether it passes in the senate or not, and if it does pass, the results from 2020 on will be so dire that it will hasten the move to single payer

Bottom line, I don't care about your ideological moralizing. If Americans vote to tax the wealthy to fund universal care, then that's what will happen. I think that's what should happen.

Really? What behavior is that? I acknowledge that human activity may be impacting the climate. That isn't the issue. The issue is what can be done about it. Every time I ask that of an enviro-fear monger, they clam up. And the reason they clam up is because they know their Rx is tyranny. They want it but are too cowardly to admit it.

God forbid the Republicans pass something that'll take responsibility away from the nanny state and give it back to the individual before the left has a chance to manipulate, spin and hyperbolize the useless numbers from the CBO. (And if you think I'm being unreasonable, find me a CBO report that doesn't include some weasel words about "factors beyond our control changing the accuracy of our results".)
