To keep a pledge since they won the house in 2010 to repeal OBAMAcare. They could repeal ACA and replace it with the exact same bill and call it trumpcare and trump's base would be thrilled, as we saw with KYnect in Kentucky.

I'm glad the GOP house fell on this sword that can't get through the Senate as written. And, now the GOP senate has the pressure on them and McConnell will finally be visible .

None of that actually says that you think he wouldn't do well.

Republicans seem to think an effective government is one that does little other than steal from the poor and give to the rich.

All of the quotes he posted were about how Congress would not play nice with Trump. None of his posts predicted that Trump would suck as a President

The "At worst he would be a poor president," was pretty close, but the qualifier meaningfully changes the statement.

Others were that he was a blowhard and that he puts his foot in his mouth. Those aren't endorsements, but they don't actually outline what quality of president he would be. As far as i can tell, his supporters seem to think his high foot-in-mouth frequency is a perk.

As you mention, what congress would or would not do doesn't necessarily determine how good or bad the president will be. I can see some of those as a weak implication of "if congress went along with him, he would be a bad president," but it's more like "there's no risk because congress won't let him do any of the stupid things he might want to do," which is actually an argument about how neutral, or even good, of a president he would be.

I feel a little bad because that was a lot of research, and lends some weak support for his claim- but, realistically, he didn't conclusively make his point.

Democratic politicians like Sen. Booker were taking the high road today, hoping the GOP doesn't destroy health care with zombie trumpcare.

Since I want the house back, sustain the senate, and make deep inroads into the state governors and legislatures, I don't want the trump/GOP to change anything they're doing.

I'm a numbers geek. You should see the data mining that's out here. DEMs/dailykos learned a lot from what GOPs did with REDMAP 2010 and what they're doing with REDMAP 2020 .

I'm conflicted. On one hand, I must admit it is amusing to watch the GOP and Trump dig themselves into even deeper **** than they already are in, but on the other hand, decent Americans are going to get screwed because of it. And what does it matter in the end any way...even if the Democrats gain back power...the GOP will eventually get it back again. You would think that after the Bush/Cheney fiasco, that the GOP would have been out of power for decades, but look where we are at now.
