Man arrested in machete attack at university coffee shop - ABC News

It's like' OH, you are Republican, you are safe'.

A man armed with a machete asked about the political affiliations of people at a university coffee shop Friday morning before injuring two females in central Kentucky, a witness said.

The assailant at Transylvania University was armed with a machete and knives and is thought to be a former student, Lexington police Sgt. Jervis Middleton told the Lexington Herald-Leader.

You're not going to get normal behavior at a place called "Transylvania University" .

Re: Machette attacker asks political affiliation before attack at university coffee s

Is this the opposite of "she said yes", the girl who was killed in the columbine massacre after answering she believed in god? Except that most likely never happened

Something tells me republicans won't be so teary eyed over this

Weird, the people who fervently shared news stories about liberals being violent are being awfully mum on this news story.

FAKE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the reply you'll get from them. If it doesn't come from breitbart they won't believe you.

That's because it's the job of Progressive "Liberals" like yourself to harp against your political opponents, and those opponents to harp on Progressive Liberals.

It's not the job of opponents to point out their own faults.

Honestly, I'm sure they don't appreciate being compared to this right wing stabber nutjob any more than liberals don't appreciate being compared to Black Bloc Anarchists that smashed out windows during Trump's inaguration. The link between political ideology and violence is tenuous at best, and anyone who uses the violence of a few, to smear their opponents side as completely rotten, is a political hack.

Not really. This thread was posted just over an hour ago when there were only 50+ people online. I didn't notice it until I saw Post #7 listed under "Newest Forum Posts" and was persuaded to click.

That's because it's a duplicate thread. Most people have the courtesy not to waste bandwidth but not liberals. Liberals waste other people's resources and time and have no regard for community standards.

If he was a Muslim screaming allahu akbar, we'd all be told immediately not to assume it had anything to do with Islam

actually that is silly. Transylvania University is in Kentucky and is pretty much filled with middle to upper middle class kids. A guy I went to law school went there, and other being a total nut case over the Kentucky derby and basketball he was pretty normal.

Actually, it's the job of humans everywhere to condemn violence regardless of it's creed, color, or political backings. "Liberals" like myself are quick to condemn riots, violence, and forced censorship of the right. But when you get some nut job trying to hack up people who are liberal we get responses like this:

Do Republicans, or right wingers in Europe, attack or kill people in Europe on a weekly or monthly basis? Do Muslims?

Compartively, this is the typical response to threads where it's a liberal silencing conservatives:

While most liberals/progressives/statists/leftists/political class/Democrats that I know almost certainly would not support violence, many seem to forgive it as justifiable anger. And there are some, including some here at DP, who say such is exercise of free speech.

This seems to be the natural progression for far left fanatics. This is simply the next step on their mission to silence anyone who dares to oppose their agenda.

I never thought I'd live to see people become so desperate to impose their political will on American society, that they would stoop to such despicable levels... but here we are.

You think this is political? No, this is their religion.

As a group liberals are what they are.

And most claim to be exceptions to the rule - as in this case.

But sometimes liberals do think for themselves and if you say you disapprove of what the fascist snowflakes at Berkley are doing I will accept that as a real exception

Liberal scum have been doing this **** for years. She is only encouraging more of it by pulling out.

Threads like these perfectly highlight the hypocrisy of the people who cry about "violent lefties" while failing to do the same for the conservatives that incite violence against people they oppose ideologically.

Straight up nut job.
The suspect had self-inflicted injuries.

Whats to say? News reports say that the guy snapped...that he perceived he was targeted on the liberal campus for having conservative views and after a few years of being bullied he lost it. (HIS perception...not mine). SO...again...what is there to say? Tragic incident. Dood should be held accountable. No excuse for violent rampages. Not at a college campus and not at political speaking arenas.

Lol...no it doesn't. The only thing that's been shown here is your penchant for false equivalencies. There is not systemic violence happening here, like there is on the left. What we have here is one random guy, that everyone hopes gets the maximum punishment and/or mental health treatment he may need. He isn't getting support from elected officials calling it "a beautiful thing".

It's funny.

I heard Wolfman went there too.

Actually, it is most certainly the job of opponents to point out their own faults. It's far more honest and demonstrates a lack of hypocrisy by doing so.

When a horde of Republicans take over a major university, and successfully shut down free speech by way of violent threats, then we can discuss why Republicans are so violent.

Until then, this is just another Man Bites Dog story.
