Trump: I gave 'Face the Nation' highest ratings 'since the World Trade Center came down' | TheHill

President Trump says he gave CBS's "Face The Nation" its highest ratings "since the World Trade Center came down."

During an interview with the Associated Press, Trump touted his ratings, saying that when he appears on different networks, the shows' audiences grow.

"On any, on air, [CBS 'Face the Nation' host John] Dickerson had 5.2 million people. It's the highest for 'Face the Nation' or as I call it, 'Deface the Nation,'" Trump said during the interview.

"It's the highest for 'Deface the Nation' since the World Trade Center. Since the World Trade Center came down. It's a tremendous advantage."

The president also said he got high ratings when he appeared on Fox News host Chris Wallace's Sunday show.

"I have, seem to get very high ratings. I definitely. You know Chris Wallace had 9.2 million people, it's the highest in the history of the show," the president said of his appearance on the program.

It is common knowledge that Trump has these kinds of numbers cold, knowing these numbers is very important to him, which so far as I know not a single American disputes.

What are we to talk about here?

The only "fact" worth reporting is that at 100 days, Trump has the lowest approval ratings of any new President since ratings began.

Is this another one of them "Beat the **** out of Trump and his supporters and it does not matter how and you could not possibly go too far" threads because otherwise I dont see how you get from Point A to Point B.

We are a much more stupid and cruel nation than I thought.

The intolerance, viciousness, bigotry coming from the left. They are truly trying to create a dystopia society. I don't know how to explain to my daughter why these woman are acting in such a violent matter. It is hard to be a good parent when the fake news media is brainwashing our youth.

If I quit on things because the first 2-4 months were rough, I would never have held on to a job.

I'm not a Trump supporter, and I'm going to need you to explain what's wrong here. It's a little insensitive I guess, but as far as I can tell what he's claiming is factually accurate. His obsession with his TV ratings and news coverage is just Trump being Trump. I'm really not sure why this is particularly noteworthy.

It goes back to his mental disorder, and stroking that ego. The man lets his personality disorder dictate many of his judgement calls, therefore he has very low approval ratings. As Pres Obama stated, Obama care is now more popular than Trump. Have a great day!!

It's just an off color remark that betrays a very insecure man, who needs Melania to hold him at night and tell him everything's going to be okay.

It's not something a stable person would say. Out of everything Trump's said, this to me is the most perverse.

EDIT: Upon further consideration, his non-factual rants about hairspray and they're affect on his apartment being sealed off from the environment are a prime contender too.

How do you know it's a factual statement? Because Trump said it? That's not a great standard, and you'll look like an idiot too, if you listen to Trump and repeat anything he says regarding statistics or facts. I don't know though, he does have a slavish devotion to ratings, this may be the one area where he is factually accurate. All other areas and Trump cannot be trusted to tell you the weather the day before.
