In January 2016, after reporting by VTDigger showing former Burlington College President Jane Sanders overstated pledged donations in applying for a loan so the school could purchase its former North Avenue campus, Republican lawyer Brady Toensing made a formal request to the U.S. attorney for a fraud investigation.

When I learned about the shady details regarding the campus purchase I knew something didn't smell right. There's nothing surprising about this. Bernie might be a person of integrity but socialists in general can't do anything in life without habitually lying.

Unlikely they will ever determine anything since the college is now defunct and a lot of the records destroyed.

It makes me all warm n' fuzzy inside knowing that this is all the spin machine has got on Bernie. Sad and soooooooo ****ing lame. What's next? His dog ****s on the neighbour's lawn?

What do you mean "got on Bernie"? Nobody is trying to spin this against Bernie Sanders. Everyone so far is holding his wife, and his wife alone as responsible. Please try to control your partisan hatred.

What do you mean "why go after Bernie's wife"? After the hyperpoliticization of everything under Obama, this might come as a surprise, but the FBI also investigate non-politicians too. Shocking right?

Well, seeing how she isn't a politician, isn't running for office, and this thread was posted in the General Political Discussions forum, it is understandable why one might get that impression.

I care because she engaged in possibly fraudulent business practices. I made it very clear that I cared before it was posted here. What do you mean why is it in the news? Maybe you should ask the people of Vermont. The people of Vermont are infamous for their FAR RIGHT agenda...It's clear that this is a partisan witch hunt or something, I dunno. You seem to be filling in the blanks with your preferred conspiracy theory, so I'll let you take it from here...
