To this day one of the things I find several steps beyond jaw dropping amazing is that Trump won the election despite the worst publicity ever garnered by and major party candidate which severely should have assassinated his character - and by that I mean he ***** grabbing comments that took over the campaign and must have been heard by at least 90% of voters.

What amazes me is this: I cannot think of one single candidate for either party in the last 100 years in a relatively close election who could have survived that and won. Not one.

Sure, LBJ in 64 could have done it..... Nixon in 72 would have won despite such comments. But both had such huge leads and their opponents were so marginalized that nothing could have helped them. But in an election where the difference was around five points or so in polls, I cannot see any candidate surviving such devastating publicity.

But Trump did and managed to put together enough states to win the EC and the office.

One simple question: why was this possible?

I mean.... it wasn't a public statement... to me, it just sounded like a private raunchy joke.... and it wasn't out of character. Donald Trump has a lot of silly film on him, and overall it just seems to be him having fun as a normal citizen, he's relate-able in that way a normal politician isn't. He was in Hollywood, not a politician, so expectations are lowered. If Obama said something like that, it would be very out of character. I don't think he would have survived something like that, nor Hillary... Bill Clinton maybe could have.

It was a private conversation 10+ years ago... No I don't care about that... My friends and I have said worse in jest.

Besides the overreaction to it also help Trump's cause. He also apologized :/

He didn't grab anyone, he was just being lewd in private.

How was this possible, you ask? Because Trump grabbed this election by the *****, and raced to the finish line!

Other than perhaps the period when William Randolph Hearst invented new levels of yellow journalism, can you think of any time in the last 100 years when the media has been more corrupt than it is today?

I think your answer can be found in that reality, and the fallout from it.

I suspect in reality-Hillary has grabbed more ***** than Trump has. He was just bragging to another guy which is common.

1) Trump haters going into constant hysterics over comments that have nothing to do with politics or policy.

2) Hillary said worse things about policy.

Trump haters were so constantly enraged by non-issues that they rejected all reality. Furthermore Trump's behavior wasn't all that different from Bill Clinton's. The haters were such hypocrites and didn't realize it. It's amazing how four or five months after the election the haters are still confuzzled about why their awful candidate lost.

yeah he did, your post is dishonest

Who? Where is this proof? I remember a recording, a lewd locker room boast of "Look at me, me man" bull**** I've heard before, I don't recall evidence of actual action.

then you need to do your homework before you try to recreate reality
