Just chalk Venezuela up to another country the CIA has turned into a toilet and destroyed the lives of millions of people for profit.

Americans can be so proud of what is being done in their name.

If that is your criteria, then every other nation on earth is other than North Korea. If someone talks about putting a new park in, half right wingers start bitching about socialism, but all of a sudden Norway isn't. If the Nordic nations are not socialist, then you obviously can never use that term to describe anyone in the Democratic Party again.

(And when have I used that term to describe anyone in the Democratic Party? Not, of course, that there are no actual Marxists in the Democratic Party.)

How's this the CIA's fault? Seems to me it's the Venezuelan gov't that's been crapping all over the Venezuelan people through it's disasterous economic and political policies.

The CIA runs Central and South America like puppet masters. The CIA makes huge amounts of cash from the drug trade which in turn pays for their secret wars that Congress will not fund. The problem for them in Venezuela currently is that they do not control the current government, and it does not play ball with them, so the country must be crushed and the government replaced with a puppet government.
