Liberals Worst Nightmare - 100% Conservative SCOTUS

It would to be hard to be WORSE than Obama or the Potential of Hillary!

Trump was not my first choice as GOP candidate, yet Trump on his worst day is 10X better than Hillary and 30X better than Obama!

I am a decades long Blue Dog Democrat who has finally had enough, and left the Democratic Party!

Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda, Jim Webb!

With the revelations from the book 'Shattered' about her leadership and management capabilities, I think you are right.

Jesus Christ.

Yeah, yeah, everything you like is "compliant with the Constitution" (snicker) and everything you don't is "judicial activism." Earth to eohrnberger: Right-wing and constitutional are not synonyms. Conservative politicians and judges violate the constitution with great regularity, and liberal pols and judges comply with it with great regularity. Get over yourself.

Textualism is a formalist theory in which the interpretation of the law is primarily based on the ordinary meaning of the legal text, where no consideration is given to non-textual sources, such as: intention of the law when passed, the problem it was intended to remedy, or significant questions regarding the justice or rectitude of the law.[SUP][1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textualism

A Textualist is going to remain true to the Constitution far more so than a judicial activist who contorts the law to fit their political agenda.

And, no, I don't have to like it. My liking it or not is immaterial, as long as it is compliant to the Constitution, even regardless to your snide snicker.

Where in my post do I make the claim that "liberal pols and judges comply with it with great regularity" isn't the case? Strawman much? Overly defensive?

If you think I am going to sit here and defend the DNC you are wrong. The DNC is incompetent. And Trump is wildly unpopular. And Trump's idiocy will get much more press than the DNC's idiocy. Which is one reason my money is on Trump being a one-term President. Also, Trump won because Democrats in key states were too apathetic to show up. I doubt people will be as apathetic in 2020. But I have certainly been wrong about these things before.

Trump is wildly unpopular with who?

The BLM and La Raza Crowd? Because he wants to build a border wall?

The Syrian Refugees, and those Americans who make Million$ / year in Government Contracts providing expensive tenement appartments and other services for them?

The Mexican, Honduran, and El Salvadoran Illegal Immigrants, who are not supposed to be voting in our elections?

The few in numbers, Elite, Effete, College Campus Globalist Socialists who demanding their student loans be paid off by Big Gov!?

Trump is NOT wildly unpopular with the majority of the authorized, legal to vote, common, low-middle class American VOTERS!

If you really believe that Trump is "Wildly Unpopular" with the majority of common Americans, you need to visit Main Street more, and the Ivory Tower less!

Trump ran and won on a "populist" campaign!

I think the chances that Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, or Kagan resign during a Trump presidency is close to 0%. Especially if it will fundamentally alter the Court in a way that will destroy much of what they believe in. Ginsburg is of course getting up there, so I there's certainly a chance she doesn't make it until the end of Trump's administration, but I seriously doubt she resigns.

Ginsburg is older then dirt. I do not see her holding out another 8 years. I think she will resign when Trump wins re-election at the latest.

Well, isn't it fascinating that you find the important part of a more conservative court that liberals won't like it...

Actually the liberals not liking it is just a very nice bonus. I am just relieved as hell that Hillary is not picking the justices.

Are you insinuating that Kennedy's (appointed in 88) views are similar to what the republican base was in the late 1970s?

I'm not sure about that. It is true that over the last 40 years or so more than a couple of justices appointed by Republican presidents have ended up being referred to as left-wingers by the "base". Kennedy, imo is a right leaning moderate.

The anti-Trump hysterical protesting seems to be dying down now. Liberals gone batty over the Trump victory, went crazy during the transition period. Like spoiled, bratty kids not getting their way, they through tantrums all across America.

They are about to discover that their tantrums were a little too early. For them the worst is yet to come. Two conservative judges are about to join the SCOTUS. First, Gorsuch replacing Scalia, and next in June, another replacing Kennedy.

This will give conservatives a majority on the court. Then all of President Trump’s wishes, (Muslim ban, imprisoning sanctuary city leaders, ban of abortion on demand, full gun freedom, etc), will become reality.

But that is just the start of the liberal nightmare. After this, it won’t be long before Ruth Bader Ginsburg (well into her 80’s) will retire. Same with aging Breyer. Trump will again appoint 2 more conservatives, from the very conservative list he announced during the campaign.

Even this isn’t the last word on it. With conservatives then having a solid lock on the SCOTUS, it won't be long before Sotomayer and Kagan grow tired of constantly being outvoted. They will see their 2 liberal votes having no effect, and will soon drop out, and take jobs in other courts, or teaching, where they’ll think they can do some “good”.

They’ll also be replaced by conservatives, and liberals will have their worst nightmare >> > a 100% conservative Supreme Court. Only thing is, this won’t be a “nightmare”. It’s really happening – unfolding right now.

Trump is extremely unpopular right now. I don't think most of Americans want a Trump supreme court, and if that happens, the supreme court will be unpopular too.

Many foreign born Americans are also authorized and legal to vote. You rattled off BLM and bunch of other groups. FYI, Trump is unpopular with many white people as well. If a person wants to campaign on "America First," then I think that means American interests first... not your concept of what an American should look like and how they think. Many Americans are critical of Trump.

I would put down the pom poms, quite often, history tells us these judges do not vote according to left, or right idealogy, and I can provide LOTS of examples.

Mostly accurate, but health may overrule that desire. If, somehow, Trump won a second term, then all bets are off.

Trump is no spring chicken, overweight, and a terrible diet. Ginsburg may out live the Liar in Chief.

Ginsburg has had colon and pancreatic cancer and is in her 80s. Trump is in his 70s, is overweight, but not morbidly overweight. And he has access to the best healthcare. I would not bet on Ginsburg out living him.

I prefer the USSC as close to neutral as possible 4/5 or 5/4.

I read a great article some time ago where the justices would try to get together a few times a week and exchange views on many of the issues coming at them. Now days, all they do is send the occasional email.

I prefer that all 9 justices are Originalists, making decisions strictly according to the US Constitution. I do not care for activist justices.

There are some articles that are open for debate on the intent of the words, because the vocabulary of the founders was much different than what we operate under today.

I enjoy reading the opinions, findings, and dissents of the justices.

Agreed. Some is up to interpretation. I just want Originalists making those interpretations.
