Ann Coulter vows to speak at UC Berkeley after school calls off event

No...she wasnt uninvited. Those that invited her still invited her. The University cancelled their right to hear her and her right to speak. They cite fear...from people they have an expectation of violence from. So is that really how you think this should all work. Should they have shut down civil rights rallies out of fear that it might get ugly? Interesting how leftists...the originators of the KKK and those that demonstrated the will to violate rights...are still hard at it.

Which according to the SCOTUS citing fear is not enough to violate someone rights.

Dude.

No.

I told you what my point was.

Trying to pretend it was something else is just stupid. But keep it up, if you feel you need to.

you attempted to assert that the campus denied the coulter presentation due to speech content
here is your quote:
The university is a state school. The First Amendment applies. It cannot deny a student group use of the facilities on the basis of content.

you insist her speech could not be denied because of content and i told you that was not the basis for the denial
it is bad when another poster has to remind you what your [erroneous] post was

Theres a simple solution to all the university problems. Where administrations refuse to guarantee free speech rights at events coordinated legally through their student services they should just register as private institutions and be cut off from all federal funding. States can still choose to fund away...but if a state attempts to fund one of those private universities that denies 1st amendment rights, the state should be cut off from federal funds entirely. No workarounds.

Oh...and then of course, following recent trends...the schools should be sued civilly and fined heavily by the fed for violating basic constitutional rights.

You have no clue how I vote. Nor do you know if I have any political affiliation. New Flash, Trump isn't going anywhere and all the lies that the media is spreading about his administration and poll numbers, etc., cannot be believed. If you believe it, you are being deceived, just like you were deceived about Obama or Hillary Clinton.
If the election were held today, Trump would still beat Clinton both in the popular vote and the EC.
Trump's actions to date, are anti Demo agenda, so no, he wouldn't be running with a (D) next to his name.

Actually, it's funny that you say that, because after 100 days in office the "greatest job maker in history" (as he calls himself) only saving grace is that he's supposedly slightly less bad than Hillary Clinton.

Geez, perhaps your new political messiah isn't all he's cracked up to be, eh?

No. It was about application of the First Amendment in general.

I won't repeat myself again, so blather on in ignorance without me from here on out.

such an 'inspired solution' would cause a public school to lose its source of funding when the campus authorities overruled the students' invitation to invite an isis recruiter to speak
kudos for the depth of that suggestion

If they want to accept public funds then they have to follow the constitution. They cannot restrict people speaking over fear of something happening.
this has been long established as precedent by the SCOTUS. They cannot restrict speech over not liking what the person might or might not say.

If they want to forgo this right then they need to withdraw from the public sphere and become a private institution.
There is some limitations that the school can impose on speech however it does not apply in this case.

now the school is being sued by the group that invited coulter to speak. Good they should be and like other 1st amendment cases
they will lose.

used YOUR quote to illustrate what you held out as a point of argument
such point has now been shown to be a bogus one

it will be very difficult to blather on in ignorance in this thread without you

The problem with your premise is that leftists have no problem inviting extremist leftists to come speak. They are just poor misunderstood victims of the white patriarchy and de eeeevil Zionist jews.

And yet, as you evidenced in post #156...you somehow managed to pull it off just fine.

My President, and yours, Donald J. Trump, is doing a great job considering that people in his own party are working against him.
Trump is many times better than that crooked Hillary. If you believe the main stream media on Trump, then you are being deceived.

Crooked Hillary? Not too long ago your new GOP president called her the greatest secretary of state ever, and said she would make a great president.

Are you stating that Trump is a...liar?

I'm not crazy about the guy, call me one of those "anyone but that women" guys, if nothing else, he saved the SC from a generation of liberal majority rule, That alone is worth seeing him blunder through 4 years, at the least!

You could probably thank Pence and the GOP for that. I remember when Trump was talking about putting his liberal sister on the SC, LOL.

Well he has been accused of being a neocon.

Still, just forever greatful, "that women" is enjoying nature hikes, instead of being POTUS.

South Park had it right, a choice between a summers eve product and a turd sandwich ! GOD help us!

Nope. I'm only stating that you pick and choose conversation from the nether regions of the hare.

Yep, Trump is an opportunist if there ever was one, LOL.

And he has a great opportunity to right all the wrongs of Obama and liberals in general. The SC pick was nothing short of terrific.
My hope is that all the goofy liberals have exploding heads.
