how do you define liberal? less freedom and more government is hardly liberal in my book. the modern left is all about more federal power

I don't believe U of M had affirmative action in terms of grades or law review based on grades but she may have had a break getting into Michigan as a woman-that is something I cannot state one way or the other though I know other people with similar resumes from Cornell who got into Michigan and other similar law schools who were male.

Then she was a clerk for the Circuit court of appeals-a normal achievement for a law review editor from a top ten law school. and from that a Justice Dept. Honors Hire.

so that is a pretty good resume for a political commentator-way ahead of most of the others

Meh, who knows how many vastly more qualified Asians and white males lost their spots for an affirmative action baby like Coulter.

really? what affirmative action did she get? being female? well her credentials in college were far higher than say Hillary clinton's who didn't even graduate cum laude at a school rated lower than cornell

So does that mean I have a right to rent university facilities to host an Eyes Wide Shut Party? It is still private property, the administration still gets to decide who can use campus facilities. Does being a taxpayer give you the right to attend the university? No, same goes for use of the facilities.

I do when I believe that the result will mean less federal government expansion than the Democrat candidate. over the last 40 years the DNC has been the party of more and more federal government

Yet, both of them grow the government substantially. At least the Democrats are honest about it. The GOP pretends to be limited government when they are campaigning...then do the complete opposite when in power.

where do you come up with such nonsense? I ran the Clark campaign in 80 and voted for him in the presidential election. I voted for the Libertarian candidate in 1992 and IIRC 96. I voted for libertarians on state tickets many times. now in really close elections on a national level-president and Senator-I do usually vote GOP mainly for judges

sometimes that is true but you have admitted the the Democrats are for big government at the federal level. and if IIRC the GOP justices on the USSC have mainly voted against the expansion of federal power while the Dem appointees are generally in favor of it.

The only difference is that by claiming they care about minority groups and 'championing' them, they have truly perfected the art of ****ing them over completely. The Klan were and remain pikers when it comes to screwing over minorities by comparison to the rat party.

Fortunately, the Supreme Court of the U.S. does not share your notions about government restriction of the freedom of speech. Apparently you do not understand that a decision like this by officials of a state university is state action, which means it must comply with the First Amendment. Apparently you do not understand, either, that the Court considers all First Amendment freedoms fundamental, so that its "strict scrutiny" standard applies in constitutional challenges to government actions which restrict those freedoms. You also do not seem to understand that courts disfavor prior restraints on speech more strongly than any other form of restriction of it. Ms. Coulter had not defamed anyone, used fighting words or obscenity, or engaged in speech that created a clear and present danger of imminent lawless action. She had not yet even given her speech, and the public safety reason the officials gave was nothing but a pretext for silencing a person whose views they dislike.
