Oh Donald, where are you? Boeing to Dismiss Hundreds of Engineers

In response to a dumb OP, it was said:

Did we - did YOU - talk about management when the subject was Carrier, for which Trump was praised and the one after that? The two were moving things out of country. Carrier was bought off with the kind of crony deal used by many now-Trump-supporters to attack Obama at the time; lean on Pence, get some nice tax treatment for Carrier, carrier keeps 1,000 out of 2,000 jobs in the country. But let's not talk about the failure of Trump & Co. & supporters to discuss management's mistakes.

I see this:

:kissass

That's not to defend this thread. This thread sucks. Obviously, Trump's decision to undertake a state government deal with Carrier via Pence was not universally binding on Trump as to Corporations. In other words, the one (two? Xth?) deals do not establish a requirement to make deals with all businesses wishing one. That doesn't stop them from being crony capitalism, that thing hated between 2008 and 2016. But we were barely here then, so I am not talking about you personally - unless you elsewhere thought/posted/etc that Obama cronyism was bad.

I am not familiar with the goings on of that company, so I have no comment.

Um....you did comment:

SAD.

What we should be talking about is the management at Boeing....mistakes they have made and their desire to move operations to cheaper locations.

Are you admitting that you made the comment despite knowing nothing about it?

Boeing has pared 1,332 of the jobs from its Seattle-area manufacturing center since the start of 2016, according to SPEEA, the union representing the workers.

"Since the start of 2016."

So........obviously.......Trump can't be blamed.

Obama.......was that the name of the Muslim in charge at that time?

No, I said that I dont know about the goings on of Carrier, Boeing I do.

Boeing management has not done well, and now the workers will take it in the shorts for many years I think. .

I have a brother who worked for them from college to retirement, but he often said that their hiring and firing went in cycles. In couple of years the cycle will start again with massive hirings.

Boeing to Dismiss Hundreds of Engineers Amid Sales Slowdown

Boeing Co. plans to lay off hundreds of engineers in Washington state and other locations -- and may eliminate more jobs later this year as the planemaker contends with slowing aircraft sales.

The manufacturer plans to hand out pink slips on Friday, the same day that 305 engineers and technical workers will leave voluntarily under an earlier buyout offer. Boeing has pared 1,332 of the jobs from its Seattle-area manufacturing center since the start of 2016, according to SPEEA, the union representing the workers.

Boeing may make additional engineering cuts depending on “our business environment and the amount of voluntary attrition,” John Hamilton, vice president of engineering for the commercial airplanes unit, said in a letter to employees Monday. The dismissals are needed to “meet our operating plan and additional challenges in the marketplace.”

Go ahead Donald Trump, open your Big Mouth again!

Sales are down. Boeing need less workers to design and develop product. Jobs are cut.

Economics 101.
