Clinton: 'That was my last race'

She's actually said recently that she won't run in 2020. but she may go back on her word.

the dem insiders are already pressing her to run. she has the same image issue as her mother.
her husband caught up in that now defunct hedge fund disaster.

she has a dubious career. as her really only job has been working for the Clinton foundation where she is being paid a ton of money.

The woman is 70 years old and looked like **** by election night. She probably couldn't endure another campaign. It's really time for her to hang it up, make a ton of money giving speeches and play grandma.

This. Just age and health precludes her from running again, let alone other factors. I think she would have stuck it out and run for re-election had she won this time, but she didn't. I see no reason to doubt her on this one.

Hilary just never made herself a viable candidate. She would have been every ounce of war hawk as Trump is now. I also think she would have ignored problems that need fixing here.

Clinton was a toxic waste dump of a candidate and everyone knew it. The problem is that after that outing by Obama she was promised the next one. the DNC ensured that she would get it.
that is why it didn't matter how many states sanders won none of the super delegates would vote for him. which is where he really lost the DNC vote. I think 95% of the super delegates voted
for Clinton.

trump wasn't much better he just came off a little less toxic and talked to the issues that were important to the people.

Article is here.

IMO, the baggage of the Clinton presidency would have been easier for her to distance herself from had she divorced the philandering creep. But, even then, I doubt she would have been able to escape the sense of distrust that dogged her. She really should have walked away after 2008. smh

Sanders fell more votes short of winning the popular vote against Hillary than did Trump. The problem was that in the rural rust belt, anyone but Clinton caught on like wildfire.

Hillary did say after losing to Obama in 2008 that she would never run again, so there is that.

The whole super delegate thing really makes me angry.

the national popular vote doesn't mean squat. what matters is winning states. even during the primary winning states and delegates is what is important.
Clinton sanders

in the democratic primary you need 2,382 delegates to win.
sanders was only less than 400 delegates behind Clinton. what swung the entire thing
was the super delegates. Clinton captures 602 delegates. Even states that sanders won the super delegate went to Clinton.

there were even some states that sanders won; Clinton still got the majority of the delegates.
the entire primary was setup by the DNC to push Clinton to the main stage.

one of the reasons that trump won the RNC was that they changed the rules this year. super delegates were bound to the winner of their state.
if they hadn't been then there would have been a national run off I do believe.

You do realize that Sanders is not a Democrat. Right? Hell, at least Trump declared himself an R. Sanders wanted the D nomination as an Independent. I can see why the DNC blocked him at every turn.

Of course we are. Hillary lost. What would her announcing that it was her last race have anything to do with it. If we didn't want to be stuck with Trump, she should have ran a better campaign and won. She lost to Donald Trump for god sake. The DNC kept trying to smash Hillary down our throats, and when she had an election that should have been in the bag for her...she lost. She needs to be done, she needs to get out, the DNC needs to pull its head from its ass and get moving on making the proper changes to move forward. They aren't, but they need to be.

The DNC has become the epitome of the "good old boys" club. They have their chosen few who select candidates based on identity and little else. There was a time when the Dems. were the "reform" ("Daddy, we need to get us some of that REform.") party and now they have become the establishment party.

I just firmly believe in my opinion they should not exist.

yea they are a very dubious part of the process.
I understand why they are there, but when you have something as blatant as this it makes the whole
system stink.

those are the DNC rules though super delegates can vote for whoever they want.

I would be all for getting rid of the super establishment delegates!

Yeah...I'm sure you were just itching to vote for the Socialist

Greetings, TheGoverness. :2wave:

She did say in several interviews a few years ago that she would not run in 2016 either! I think once people get into politics, it's in their bloodstream or something, and they can't help it!

Yeah, but she's lost her chance to win the presidency twice now, so I doubt she's gonna run again.

Yeah...I'm sure you were just itching to vote for the Socialist

it doesn't matter who I was going to vote for or not. the fact is this county was built on free and fair elections.
given your statements you do not seem to support that.

I don't think her health will permit it.
even so she is damaged beyond repair to try another run.

However Obama did the last best thing that he could before he left office.

From my understanding in the new book out she was not going to concede the election. In fact she had planned on fighting the votes
and arguing for recounts everywhere. Obama basically ordered her not too.

She lost let it go in fact from the book it took a couple of phone calls from the white house to get her to stand down.
which is why I find this whole stein thing so interesting.

in any even the recounts were a waste of time and proved the election was fair.

while Clinton can try and blame everyone else for her failure it was she that caused it.

she ran one of the worst campaigns ever.

The election was free and fair, within the rules as written before the election.

Whining about the Superdelgates is like whining about a few thousand more votes for Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania holding more sway than 4 million more Clinton votes in California. Them's the rules.
